This morning I woke to remember I had promised myself that I would complete a 10K this morning. What was I thinking. But up I got and once ready I walked out into the dreary morning ready to complete the longest run I had completed since before July 2022. COVID had put paid to my running and had meant I needed to start from scratch and complete C25K once again.
But here I was ready to run having pushed through the days when I thought "what am I doing" but knew I can do this and I would not let my mind tell me otherwise.
So off I went running a mainly flat route. The first 3-4K I felt good, my breathing was under control and my legs felt strong. I had decided to turn around at 5K and return covering the last 5K with the last 1K returning me back home.
Strava confirmed I had covered 10.1K. Great it was done. But to my dismay when I checked the recording on Strava on my phone, Strava said I had covered 9.1K. I couldn't believe it, what had gone wrong? I checked the map and realised that Strava hadn't recorded the first 1K. So here I am having run 10.1K but Strava only recording 9.1K.
But never mind I know I did it and that after all is all that matters.

Well done Nannyshirl, you know you ran the full 10k and that’s all that matters. 👏👏 I’m often having words with Strava too - or Garmin - or both. I wish they’d get a grip and agree!
Very well done you... that first 10K...blooming marvellous ! On my run on Sunday, I paused my Garmin. and did not switch it back on... My Nike Coach said I had run 6K...my watch said 5.5... I did run until it said 6K but that was only because I wanted my breakfast!
