Well I had great plans to drive to the local country park this morning for a run, its only a couple of miles away but it does involve a dual carriage way and a fast road so not somewhere I would actually choose to run to. When I saw the state of the car this morning I thought maybe a street and park type run might be a better choice π¬ We had a fair bit of snow yesterday here in Northants which froze with the very low overnight temperatures so it was quite crunchy underfoot this morning. It was a bit hard going running on frozen snow and required a bit more effort than normal but even so it was a very enjoyable 5k and . . . I even met up with these two characters in the local park π
Snowy 5k this morning . . . : Well I had great... - Bridge to 10K
Snowy 5k this morning . . .
Well done running in the snow, I bet you feel the extra effort. One of my main 10k routes over the winter has started with 2k on the footpath alongside a duel carriageway- I can have more chance of it being ice free with grit coming off the road. Its amazing how you get used to running with vehicles travelling fast beside you, I must admit it's better now there is less traffic with lockdown, I can even cross the dual carriageway to miss a particularly icy village. Happy running π€
Well done getting out for your run in the snow and you're right it does require a bit more effort but like you say enjoyable. Love the photo . Well done ββππ
Sounded a lovely run. It is definitely harder running on the crunchy stuff isn't it??
It certainly is but worth doing, we seem to miss out on a lot of it here in Northants so its a rare to have the opportunity for snow running πππ
