No sun today, light drizzle, which was quite nice really, not too many walkers about either, put a couple of hills, into the route, and was quite surprised how easy they felt 😊 ran with my daughter, so no music, and turned of notifications, just doesnt sound right saying I ran naked, with my daughter! 🀣 nice, slowish, comfortable pace, and more km's towards my total. πŸ’œ

Had my new, pancreatic cancer action, t-shirt on today! 😊

Peter44 profile image
Peter44Graduate10 in reply to Bambi2020

Glad your able to get some km's done, are you on treadmill still?

Bambi2020 profile image
Bambi2020Graduate10 in reply to Peter44

Yeah but today’s was out of pure laziness, it was pouring with rain and the option of staying dry or getting soaking was a no brainer- determined to get out in the real world on Saturday with a little treadmill one before then

Peter44 profile image
Peter44Graduate10 in reply to Bambi2020

With the bad weather at the moment, not surprised you chose the treadmill, more so after your brush with covid! This storm coming in, not looking good! ☹

Well done Peter, great stuff πŸ‘πŸ» hills are growing on me too 🀣 I think il try a flat 5k in the morning though, looks like I'm not gonna be getting home from Glasgow until late tonight so not planning anything too tiring.

Peter44 profile image
Peter44Graduate10 in reply to Jericho2332

Blimey, Glasgow, sounds a long way, but not so far from you, i guess, quite gentle hills today, so not too bad, guessing a fast πŸ₯΅ 5k tomorrow then! 🀣

Jericho2332 profile image
Jericho2332Graduate10 in reply to Peter44

Yeah that's my thinking πŸ‘πŸ» don't want to be out in the rain too long πŸ˜‚ Glasgow is about 3hrs30 mins from us, set off 05:30 this morning and will get home at 21:00 tonight πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈ

Great t-shirt and great work on the hills! Did you enjoy the β€˜freeness’ of running naked though? When my head isn’t in overdrive I reckon I could quite enjoy it.

You won't know until you try it acountrycabbage it heightens the senses πŸ€“

Yes, will keep notifications quiet for a bit, was actualy a bit slower today, which is good, as was feeling the last 2 long runs a bit, felt ok today. 😊

I think I first read from IannodaTrufe that to get the most enjoyment out of running you should go slowly. I’ll learn one day ☺️

Well done πŸŽ‰I ventured out for a short run on Sunday as no snow or ice. Will head out tomorrow before work to clear the head. More snow forecast this week. πŸ™„

Peter44 profile image

We've been lucky down here, one morning, a layer of snow, soon went, and not even been too icy, i guess you have to be carefull, good you were able to get out for a short run.

Well done Peter44, light drizzle is quite nice, helps keep you cool, sounds an enjoyable 7.5km, no obstacle course for you negotiate today too, which is good.....running naked with your daughter doesn’t sound good does it πŸ˜‚πŸ‘πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

Great run with the hills, Peter. Love the t-shirt and well done for adding more kms to your total 😊. I tried naked running and was surprised that I enjoyed it, but it has to be on the right run for me. For my longer runs.I like to listen to coach Bennett; although maybe when we have some warm, spring sunshine, it might be pleasant not to be listening to anything through the headphones.

Peter44 profile image
Peter44Graduate10 in reply to Jools2020

You'd all laugh if you saw these hills 🀣 more of an incline πŸ€” was nice not hearing the pace, every km, and probably helped keep it a bit slower, you not been out today?

Jools2020 profile image
Jools2020Graduate10 in reply to Peter44

Yes, I went out in the wind. 4.16 km, average pace 7:16. Not too bad - I can feel my pace improving lately. Needed a 30 minute run for a Strava challenge and I think the weather here is going to be even more windy tomorrow!

Peter44 profile image

Glad you got a more 'peaceful' run in the drizzle!- another 7plus k off your total.

Peter44 profile image
Peter44Graduate10 in reply to Teresafaith

Was actualy quite nice, in the drizzle, have been out since your 7k?

Teresafaith profile image
TeresafaithGraduate10 in reply to Peter44

No, I was due to go out today but thought it best to have a two day rest after the 7k- twitchy knee playing up and don't want an injury to stop me running now!- tommorow in the lashing gales and rain is looking favourite.🌧️

Peter44 profile image
Peter44Graduate10 in reply to Teresafaith

Could be a fast one, with all that wind!!! 🀣

Teresafaith profile image
TeresafaithGraduate10 in reply to Peter44

If only!- the problem is that the winds here have the ability to blow you sideways and backwards!πŸ₯΄

Teresafaith profile image
TeresafaithGraduate10 in reply to Peter44

Just realised you've got a dodgy knee too!- the rain doesn't help it at all!

Peter44 profile image
Peter44Graduate10 in reply to Teresafaith

I think the knee thing is quite common i guess, maybe as some of us, are not as young as we were, and new to running! 🀣

Teresafaith profile image
TeresafaithGraduate10 in reply to Peter44

And doing too much in one go, maybe?- let's hope it doesn't stop us getting out there.

Peter44 profile image

Yes, would be hard to be unable to run, would never have said that, 6 months ago!!! 🀣

Hey πŸ‘‹πŸ» another solid run (with hills!!) and good to see you too, sporting your PC T-shirt. Must’ve been great to do a quieter run after your last busy dodging the crowds run 😊 I’ve had to skip my Tues run. My shins are still sore and burning up after my outing on Sunday and I think I need to rest a bit 😫 I’ve been Googling β€œshin splints” and I don’t like what I’m reading so reallllly hoping this is not that!

Peter44 profile image
Peter44Graduate10 in reply to Runforurlife

I've heard shin slints can be nasty, best to rest, i actualy thought about it too today, as had a slight niggle in right knee, which has been ok really, since early c25k weeks, but was good keeping it slow today, well, i'm never fast 🀣 will hold of doing another long one!

Runforurlife profile image
RunforurlifeGraduate10

I am taking some time out to rest 😩Advice from my PT is no running for a week, then see how I am. I'm trying not to freak at idea of not running for a week!!!!! Had frozen peas on my shins last night, seems to have helped a bit.. Hope your knee niggle ok, best to rest that a little too?

Peter44 profile image
Peter44Graduate10 in reply to Runforurlife

Oh dear, a week without running!!! ☹☹☹ i think my knee niggle is a result of my 16k, and then a 10k, so will keep runs a bit shorter, and slow!

Dups profile image
DupsGraduate10

Sounds like you had a great run today. The last few runs I’ve done have been without music, prefer that at the moment. Great t shirt πŸ‘πŸ»

Peter44 profile image
Peter44Graduate10 in reply to Dups

Thanks, got about 15km to go, to get to my 100k target, for my run, in aid of pancreatic cancer, and how early diagnosis, is so important, with this very aggressive cancer! 😒Have you been out in the snow, since your last run?

Dups profile image
DupsGraduate10

It’s amazing what you are doing. Such a worthy cause.

Yes been out in snow, on W5 of JuJu’s Magic Plan. Struggling though at the moment as I had recurring hip and quad pain since I completed the C25K in October.... so I bit demotivated at the moment. I have a appointment in half an hour with a sports injury therapist to see if she can help 🀞🏻

Peter44 profile image
Peter44Graduate10 in reply to Dups

Hope you can get it sorted, probably very frusrating to be carrying a niggling injury ☹
