Just popping in to say hi ๐Ÿ‘‹

I just thought I'd pop a quick message on to say hi to everyone and happy New Year even though we're well into January now. The weather really hasn't been my friend this month with all the ice and snow so today, I've only just managed my second run of the month. I hope I can get back to my normal routine from now on, but we'll just have to see.

I hope your running plans haven't been impeded too much and happy running for the weekend ๐Ÿ˜

Happy New Year to you Pnegirl (you can say that only in January) you are wise in not running in icy weather, even walking can be awkward, after any snow has fallen earlier today, that will melt quickly then for at least a few days it's back to milder weather and rain โ˜” before it gets colder again later next week, enjoy your runs in the less cold weather.

Happy new year to you too, glad you managed out for your ice free run. The conditions really have been challenging this year. Here's hoping the ice and snow give way for you to have a few more happy runs ๐Ÿค—

Hi Pnegirl nice of you to pop in ๐Ÿ˜ I managed my first run of 2021 today, I think having been reading the posts on here, that weโ€™ve all made a hesitant start to 2021. Iโ€™m sure youโ€™ll soon get back into your normal routine when the weather improves. ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ

Yes I saw a few people saying something along a similar line. It's so easy to slip out of a good habit though so I'm trying to grab any decent days I can get. I hope conditions get back to normal for you soon too ๐Ÿ™‚

I've also only had two runs this month: 8km on the second and 2km on the fourth. Right knee was increasingly dodgy after the fast 5km I did at the end of December. Hoping to be back to normal on Monday.

I've missed out on potential freezing fog runs, snowy runs, and icy runs.

Glad you'd missed those conditions as it's definitely not worth risking running on frost at the moment if your knee isn't right. Well done on managing an 8k though as one of your two. I've not done over 5k since achieving the 10k so I'm hoping to build up to it bit by bit. I'm happy with my 5ks though so not to worried if I don't straight away. I hope Mondays run goes well ๐Ÿ™‚

Very sensible not to take risks! Iโ€™ve sometimes seen runners out in quite slippery conditions on my daily walks.

I havenโ€™t been for a run since mid November due to back trouble, but my physio says I can start a few careful short distances soon. Iโ€™ll probably start C25K all over again, but Iโ€™m not in a hurry at this time of year. Walking similar distances is also good. It takes longer, but Iโ€™m just as fast up the hills๐Ÿ˜‰

Oh I'm sorry to hear you've been having problems with your back. They can take a while to heal but walking and enjoying fresh air that way sounds a good alternative, especially given some of the wintry scenes we've been able to enjoy. I wish you a speedy recovery ๐Ÿ™‚

Happy New Year Pnegirl! ๐Ÿ˜€ yes, we've certainly had some weather this month, no snow here but lots of rain meaning lots of mud. It seems the removing of mud and cleaning of running shoes has had to become a bit of a ritual after most runs so far this year ๐Ÿ˜ฌ Happy running ๐Ÿ˜

Haha yes, it definitely becomes part of the running routine ๐Ÿ˜‚. We're due lots of rain this week here so I'll be joining you lol

Lovely to see you โ€˜popping inโ€™ and Happy New Year ! I think youโ€™ll have no problem getting back into things once the weather improves .

Great you achieved that 10k and know you can do it ๐Ÿ‘Œ but nice to hear youโ€™re content with the runs you are doing .

I think Iโ€™d like to get there but have no ambitions to be always โ€˜strivingโ€™ for something else.

Then hopefully it can be a summer of happy 5ks or whatever ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ

What a difference a year can make .

Keep popping in ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ‘Œ

Ooo running in summer seems so long away but definitely something to look forward to! You're absolutely right about the striving thing. I've learnt I'm more than happy with my 5ks and am thinking of throwing in a longer run once a month but unless I really want to, I'm not going to push it beyond that. It's lovely to hear from you and I hope you're doing ok and still enjoying your running despite the rubbish weather ๐Ÿ™‚

P-nee-G! Welcome back! Donโ€™t sweat it, youโ€™ll get back into a rhythm soon enough. Sounds like you want to so no doubt youโ€™ll make it happen ๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

Everyoneโ€™s fighting the weather and January Blues at the moment, just got to keep on ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿผ

Roll on Spring..! Happy New Year running adventures to you ๐ŸŒŸ

Oh my goodness, we're actually online at the same time ๐Ÿ˜‚. Yes I've managed a couple of times since and may be taking a new cap I treated myself to out for a spin tomorrow as I bought it to keep the rain out of my eyes. I'll see how bad it is in the morning. It was so great reading your latest post and definitely agree with you, roll on spring!

The ships in the night just crashed! ๐Ÿ˜„

Itโ€™s funny but when I donned my cap for the first time it made me really channel that โ€˜runnerโ€™ feeling. Loved it. Dress the part and all that. Iโ€™m never without it now. Good luck tomorrow! ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŽถ
