Feeling disappointed not to be able to complete my final 10k run of JuJu's Magic Plan I had just that one run left to do and was so hoping to complete it before the end of 2020.
But our whole house was struck down with Covid on Boxing Day, so no more running for me for a while. Luckily I seem to have come out of this the best with just a night-time headache, but the 5 others range from bed-ridden to coughing to nausea & rotten achy-ness.
I say all this because I truly believe my starting running this year has made me healthier, stronger, fitter and more able to fight these wicked viruses. I've always been the sickly one of the family with asthma and a previously collapsed lung.
So I'm sharing my gratitude with all you VRBs for helping me get this far, and for all the support everyone has given each other throughout this tough year. It's been invaluable.
Long may it continue so we can all stay happier, healthier and connected throughout 2021.
Here's a quick painting I did this morning to channel my thoughts into thinking 'Spring is Coming'!

Thank you W&S. Hopefully I'll be back out there again soon.
Oh what a shame. I do hope your household all start to feel better soon. 2021 will be your 10k year, with many of them to enjoy in the months that lie ahead. Thank you for sharing your lovely painting. Happy running
Oh no ! Get well soon - and the rest of the household ! Best to stay safe - at least when you’re finally allowed out you’ll be able to start the year with a bang ! Lovely painting !
Oh, I’m sorry to hear this...but glad you’re looking on the positive side...and I love your picture, it’s so pretty...Juju’s plan will be waiting for you when you’re up to it...and spring sounds like the perfect time..
The health benefits of running are amazing...both inside and out xx
What a lovely painting 💕. That is an activity I have always wanted to try but am not very artistic so it continues to be a pipe dream for now. I hope you and your family get through this Covid illness safely and quickly. I have little doubt that your running and fitness has helped you in this regard. My thoughts are with you and yours during this time.
Thank you SaskAlliecat. My daughter is called Saskia - your name always reminds me of her! x
So sorry to hear of your family’s illness and your own disappointment at not being able to complete your 10k before the year end. Sending you all the best for a good and quick recovery for you all and for your first 10k which is just waiting for you around the corner. Your painting is beautiful and expresses so well such hope and beauty, cheering for us all through these difficult days, so thank you for sharing. You have inspired me to get out my brushes and pens today 🙏🤗
Thanks JorgeRuns. Painting is my 'go-to' if I can't get out, so I may be doing a few more before our isolation ends. Would love to see yours if you don't mind posting! x
Hi 58soon, that is a shame you didn’t reach your 2020 goal but you have still come so far in the last year and that 10k goal will be yours very very soon 👍👍 and I bet by the end of 2021 you will be looking at that goal in the same way you are looking back now at running for 20 minutes 🤗 🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️ You will be back out there before you know it 🏃♀️🏃♀️ So look after yourself for now and keep painting. Your painting is pretty 👌
Thanks so much Killerblue - there's a secret part of me happy that I've still got the 10k euphoria to come, but I was disappointed not to complete by the end of the year.
Hope you're safe & well and enjoying your new years running x
Lovely picture 58soon - let’s hope spring comes quickly! So sorry to hear you’ve all been struck down, I hope you’re all ok again soon. It must be disappointing not to have finished the magic plan in 2020 - but just think what a great way of starting 2021 it will be!
