The gremlins were at me this morning, not even Coach Dyer got a look in.. I wasnβt able to shake them off for a good hour π but I finally made it out the door at 10am. Plan was for a cheeky 5km. Within the first 2km, I was doing the usual revisions in my head and wondering if a 3km would be acceptable π€ (no). One of the many things Iβve learnt through C25K is not to give up, not to stop and keep going.. just slow down. It works! I slowed a bit after the dreaded under rail track ramp down and up and pressed on.. My new 80s pop playlist really giving me energy.. I just love the fun with a new playlist of wondering whatβs coming next...
I decided to carry on my usual route to see if I could do a loop route and not have to retrace my steps. All was going well until I realised Iβd be having a mini tour of the local industrial estate and not quite the scenic route ππ but on the plus side, there was no one about except for a lone cyclist so that was a win and no extending dog leads or kids on scooters to navigate ππ» I rejoined my usual route home and looked at my Garmin... which was dead. π³Argh!! Totally out of juice, not sure how far Iβd come.. Iβd have to get my phone out of my sports belt to check Strava while running... ugh.. managed it and I was pleasantly surprised, heading for 6km.. No energy for any final sprints, 6km done and happy with that. Christmas excess run off (well, some of it lol) and feeling energised and happy to be out in the fresh air doing what I love best, RUNNING!!
Happy Boxing Day everyone. Hope the running is good where you are π¦π¦
