So good to have Parkrun back. I had no idea how many would turn up for the Lanhydrock Bodmin run but it was a massive crowd of happy runners.
The first surprise was when a steward told me it was a new route. I had prepared myself for the course I knew quite well, so this discombobulated me.
Next surprise was how fast people were running. Clearly, over the last 16 months I’ve been merely jogging but now I was running at a pace well quicker than my usual, so I had to be careful.
Then Mrs Garmin took leave of her senses as you can see from the photo. I would guess that in the Dingly Dell she lost satellite and the so-called 5 km came up quickly. However, there was a monster hill on the new route to finish with. She gave me a final distance of 6km.
Nevertheless, all thoroughly enjoyable. Good old Parkrun.

Good first official Parkrun for you HeavyFoot, could you re-report this run on Damienair's Saturday morning post, I had the pleasure of doing that over the last two weeks but Damien is now back after having a well deserved holiday.
Love that word 'Discombobulate' 🤣👍Our Park Run in Perth today was cancelled which was disappointing to say the least as it would have been my first 🤷♀️
So glad you had a great trip out, even if garmin had a plan of it’s own. I’m in awe of all of you willing to face crowds for a park run. Happy running 🤗
I think I might owe Mrs Garmin an apology: looking harder at the route, I think I ran the southeast loop twice thus adding a whole kilometre to the run! 🤭
Did a little run this morning, but not quite yet dared to go to an official Parkrun (the time will come, I’m sure). But so great to read all the posts about runners running and volunteering on Parkrun!
When I looked at the satellite view, for one moment I thought the first stretch was up that long hill to the car park! (I visited there in August 2018.)
