Two mini milestones today

Set off for run one week two of the distance JJMP. Hit the 6km required and my first one hour run! Now I know that is a slow run but that was what made it so pleasant- it is such a beautiful day here I decided to go exploring down a bridle path and route that I had not been before and it took in farms, woodland and bumpy field paths, then back on tarmac for final 1k. Only problem was there was little opportunity to make it a circular route due to private land either side, so ended up quite far from home and had a 25 min cool down walk home 😂 feeling happy and pleased with myself. Me time was just what I needed after not feeling great yesterday and missing out on run whilst battling with teenagers and their tantrums. #running is good for de-stressing and your mental health 😊

Really love this. You are so right. Running gives us so very much. Your route and pace will really help you moving forward because running slowly will make you stronger for longer. Brilliant to run for an hour too! So many positives here 👏👏👏👏👏

Thanks GTFC - I hope I do get stronger for longer - might make that my inspirational mantra whilst out on the long runs!

Running does help and that nice long walk home would have relaxed you nicely

New routes are always fun

Was worried I might be shooed off the track by angry landowner but didn’t meet another person until I hit the tarmac!

Sounds amazing !! So we both did our first 60min run at the same time !! Well done - feels great doesn’t it ! Mine was in the park, though. I always like to have a longish walk back - it’s the bit when you can savour your achievement.

Yes and everyone I encountered on the walk back including a serious distance runner, lots of cyclists and a dog walker all very cheery too, which is always nice 👍🏻

Good job SGR, a nice slow run in the countryside sounds like the perfect antidote to scrappy teenagers 😉

Well done on your 1st 1hr, sounds like there will be many more 😊

What a fantastic result for you today on so many ways. With that 25 minute cool down walk you’ve also seen the extended routes needed for the longer runs to come. Happy running 🤗
