Well, got my second 10k in the bag and I really enjoyed that!!! Smashed a few PBβs too πͺπΌπ¦π¦ fastest 5k, fastest 10k π
After battling the run gremlins ππ most of the morning, I finally headed out suitably attired for the cold, long sleeve double layer with running tights, wearing my running gloves for the first time and felt like I looked the business.. I strode down to the local park - my starting point for my runs - now what was I going for today π€
The toxic 10 was well and truly out in force ..ugh.. people out walking everywhere (I mean really!! How very dare they?) maybe Iβll make this a nice round 5km. I pressed on and kicked up a bit of pace, 80βs tunes on point today, felt more in the zone and by the time 5km came round, I was on a mission down some new routes Iβd planned.
Simple Minds βAlive & Kickingβ powered me to 7km and I indeed felt alive and kicking and loving life and running at this point exploring my new route. Turned back at the country park and headed homeward thinking this might be a 10km and with a bit of a diversion to the last new route Iβd found on my last run, and therefore still βinterestingβ I clocked up a nice 10k π¦π¦ Happy with that!!! Still shake my head and wonder at me running 10ks non stop π The difference is now a state of mind I have, having gone through C25K and the consolidation runs, I know I can do it, I know stopping is not an option and I know I have it in me. Itβs a great feeling and I think that powers me on too π₯ Happy running if youβre out today!

Great run for you today Runforurlife, sub 70 minutes time for a 10K PB, excellent, the next time you run in that park, tell all the people walking to quickly leave so you can get the park to yourself π ππΎ for your running. π
Thanks π I like it when you put it like that βsub 70min 10kβ Iβm pleased with my time considering I felt the pace seriously slacked off in that last half km as I battled stitch that came out of nowhere! And as for those walkers π€ Iβm thinking of running out with a loudhailer next time to clear the paths π
Good idea RFUL, shout at them by saying "get out of my way, a future Olympic Runner is going to pass you" when they hear that, you will get a great applause as you pass them.
Lol π yep whoβd have thought us gazelles would be out there on our 10ks for fun π³ Ah but I loved it today! Good luck with yours tomorrow π¦π¦ hope the knee and foot niggles donβt give you any jip.
Heh, well done, must be 10k day today π and those PB's too, blimey, your pace!!! π₯΅ and i think i'm uping it a bit now π€£ it's mad really, look at us, knocking out these 10k's, and know what you mean, just cant stop! πI had a feeling you would be doing 10k today, i think you helped push me too!
Ha! I had a feeling youβd be smashing it too and I couldnβt let Team Gazelle down on itβs 10k quota, what with Bambi clocking up a 10 as well AND on the treadmill π¦π¦ Glad to get my βlong runβ done.. Must have a rest day tomorrow I think π€
Thanks π i honestly didnβt think my time would be all that today. I hadnβt really been focussing on time, just enjoying myself and not getting lost on my new route π
Phew... another record breaking 10k. Congratulations! Iβm laughing, imagining you striking a pose in the gear and saying βnow, letβs get this baby in the bag!β
I think I will focus on consolidating my running, 3x week, 2 shorter distances and 1 longer for now. Iβm just enjoying it for now although might have my eye on something else to go for in the future.. 10miles π³π³?
