Haven’t run a 5k for a while

We had a whole houseful of gremlins this morning.....don’t know where they came from but they took all morning to send packing so with little enthusiasm we set off to our usual park and walked round once then ran round twice for our warm up kilometre, Willow was limping some and kept to a gentle pace, I managed a kilometre in 8.15 for Roseabi’s speed challenge. Willow was somewhat slower but wanted to carry on for a while as I set off through the golf course and along the seafront. I was thinking there were too many bikes on the side of the sea and would stay on the other side but the lights went red as I got to them so I sprinted across the road. The sea was grey but with a little sun and a cooling breeze I plodded on and could see as far as Beachy head.

Back across the road along to the side road where Willow had kindly driven to meet me but when I got to the car it was 4.32k so i carried on to reach 5k in 47 minutes. Not the fastest but ok

Enjoy running everyone

Nice run for you today Solo, you could see as far as Beachy Head, as they say "A bit misty in the channel"

Ha ha Nowster, just because you can't see France from the White Cliffs of Dover because of fog, France and the Continent are still there.

It's a famous newspaper headline, I believe.

What pesky gremlins! But you saw them off, did 5km in a very respectable time and most important managed a cracking time for your speed challenge! I call that a very good morning’s work! I managed 8:43 for my challenge fe this morning which I was really pleased about until I remembered I’ll have to better it ! No idea how I’m going to do that! Happy running!

Yes it’s the making it a bit faster next week that’s a bit scary isn’t it? your time is good too considering we are both snails compared to a lot of others, did you see Dexy’s time? coming back from that injury and she’s so speedy

mind you Sunday I did 1k in 7.53 so I know it’s possible abs back in July I ran 5k in 40.44 which I’ve never got close too againWe had been trying to run further and further and wearing our legs out so have been running 30 mins at a time which suddenly not long enough for me

Willow has started making noises about running alongside the road with me so we might try that next time

Well done to you both, great job at fighting off the gremlins 👍👏

Well done! Inspired me to get back off my lazy bum and go for a lunchtime run today. Out of interest which app do you use? Quite like the colour coded speed. Mine might be slow slow nearly slow all the way though!

My Garmin produces a color coded map like that. It's fun to look at.
