You should have heard the gremlins in our house this morning....I said we’ve got to run it’s my day off and Willow said it’s pouring with rain i’m not going out in that.... he was leaning out the window smoking at the time and i said if he hadn’t opened the window he wouldn’t have noticed and he said .... well anyway, after a little while I peeped out and it had stopped so i said oi come on it’s not raining now
The sky wasn’t flat grey and the land was washed clean all creek and sparkling
I got bored with the track and tootled off round the river, then the lake, then across the road to see the sea, it was at that point I thought as it’s my weekend off we might as well make it the long run so headed back to the track and found Willow gently pootling round still, I was so pleased, just twice round the track and we’d have 6k 😀 so I sprinted and it felt so good, we made 6k in under an hour, we ran the same time so guessing similar distance but Willow seems to have stopped his fitbit.... I’m going to go and buy him a garmin but don’t tell him, he will be furious but i worked a load of extra hours last month and what’s quit smoking money for eh?
Happy weekend runners

That is a lovely photo of both of you, well done on running 6K in under a hour, that is excellent that you sprinted, well done, now enjoy the rest of the day 😊 🏃🏾
It wasn’t fast but we enjoyed it, he was a little disconcerted when i went to argos and came out with a garmin, but he’s got used to the idea now and setting it up and looking very happy
Poor Willow - I hope he enjoyed his run in the end! But I quite understand why you’d want to get your long run done today, especially as you can now relax for the rest of the weekend! Enjoy spending that quit smoking money - I’m sure Willow will really! I hope you have some sunshine now - it’s glorious along our way now!
Yes life has the annoying habit of getting in the way of things, especially if you are working.
The shorter days don't make it any easier either.
We can only do what we can do. Any run is better than no run
Brilliant! I love that between me reading your post earlier today and now, when I’ve finally got round to replying, you’ve gone and bought Willow a Garmin!! What a lucky lucky man. 😉 💕
He’s very happy thank you 😊 he loves that we are both fitness age 55 but was a bit surprised at how little effort he puts in during a run whereas i seem to be flat out the whole run , ( I tell him it’s the longer legs)
