Well I finally did it! I registered for not parkrun and when it starts up again i’ve found out there is one in our village by the sea
Our local track round the park is half a kilometre round and i’ve got a bit bored at times so we went to scout out some not quite so local parks this morning to walk round as it’s rest day
Both were 2k round the outside Hove park was just too busy to drive 10 miles for but the other one was about perfect, so the plan is twice round for Willow and three times round for me on our next longer run and keep our local park for when time is short
We can see the sea from the top too
Happy Sunday

Good place, your local park to run (not) parkrun, rather than travel to a much busier park miles away, since the lockdown began many people have found many nice places where to walk, run or cycle very close to where they live without having to go by car.
I do like to stay local but out closest park just isn’t big enough but the next nearest one is perfect uphill one side flat along the top downhill the other side and flat along the bottom it’s almost a perfect oblong and 2 k is a nice once round distance
In Buckingham, it’s on our way to pick up the grandsprockets. They’ve recently planted a whole load of living willow igloo shaped structures among the pockets of trees along the top. Thought you might have been standing by one when you took the picture.
Also? My last dog used to love to follow my children up onto the climbing rocks at Hove Park, the start of the Park Run Route is by the basketball courts.
Wow, one to think about for the future, maybe local parkrun is along the seafront and is like to try that first when they restart
Looks a great place to run your Parkrun. I have registered too and have logged a couple of 5k (Not)Parkrun times too, just to feel part of it all. I'm a solitary runner though so still feeling a bit unsure about joining the real thing when it restarts. I have the choice of two, both around a 10m drive away though. You are lucky to have one so close. 😊🌷
The real thing is generally a lovely thing. I turned up to my first one totally on my own, not knowing anyone, and one of the volunteers made a point of cheering me on by name when I ran past her later.
I run and volunteer at Junior Parkrun more than the adult one, as I have a 5yo grandsprocket who sometimes prefers to volunteer rather than run.
That sounds like great fun, I’m not sure about getting there as we don’t usually get up early on our weekends off but thought 💭 might give it a go when they restart
Always nice to find new running routes. I find it hard enough to keep running round a 1k route, 500m must be a struggle.
Great that you’ve signed up for not parkrun; it does add an incentive to get out. I hope you will also be able to experience real parkrun before the end of the year.
I too have signed up for the not park run! Still can’t make 5k in 30 mins but I can do it in 40 so hopefully by the time the park runs are available I’ll be fine!
