With lockdown approaching (6pm tonight for my county) and the need for new running shoes, I took myself off to town whilst still able to, I know there's online etc but it's not the same as a real visit to a real shop 🛒✅.
There's still life in the brooks adrenaline, but on the advice of Mrs Wife " go buy while you still can" i did.
Tried a pair of Hokas hmmmm very sci-fi-ish comfy but not me. To be fair I'd not even considered the Saucony brand, but wow as a replacement shoe and comfort, they're so similar to my brooks with maybe a tad more bounce..... they're still a stability shoe but able to used by those not requiring stability!! The model is the Saucony Omni 19. Watching the video footage of me galloping along on the treadmill ( many thanks to the staff at " Up and Running" great customer service) my foot strike was pretty much spot on 👍......Time and towpaths will I dare say tell me more......
Cheers Almorr yes so far were still allowed outside just not out of the county ( except for work purposes and emergency type journeys and essentials like food) exercise is currently still allowed thankfully 👍
And you’re not going to ignore an instruction from Mrs Wife to go and buy trainers are you?! Well done on going to a real shop- if we all stop using them there won’t be any left before too long! Sorry to hear about your lockdown - fingers crossed it doesn’t last too long . In all the talk of them over the last few days, there’s been no mention of getting out for exercise but I hope the new trainers get used soon and that they carry you along your canal as far as you like! I hope you have many happy runs in your new shoes. I bought my last pair just as we entered lockdown in March, according to the 800k rule I’m due a new pair already but that seems too few months. Happy running 🤗
They look great and interesting to hear they compare well with Brooks. I just love my Brooks but had no choice in shoe as I needed the extra width!
Btw I thought maybe your dog was eying up the potential fun of the new shoes!! 👟Looks like he could lead you a merry dash round the garden once he’d lifted one to entice you to play! 😂😂
Thanks Jiveblue, if they're anywhere near as good as my trusted brooks that works for me 👍, if the hound though even thinks about a nibble.... Taxidermist appointment 🤨 as a puppy, with puppy needle teeth, he almost completely digested two pairs of brand new school shoes 😬
I love my saucony s too my very first pair of proper running shoes! Up and running were fab but I agree the difference with the brooks was minimal these were slightly more cushioned.
Enjoy , it will be a long time before mine need replacing🤣
