As is mandatory on the forum, here is a pic of my new Saucony Hurricane ISO 5 road shoes. They are a support shoe and quite cushioned. I’ve just gone for a test 2k (my first run in the dark!) and first impressions are good, but I needed a bit of calf stretch after. This may be because they have an 8mm drop compared to 12mn in my current shoes. I have some heel lifts which I might try on my next test run. They look a bit like my first running shoes Brooks GTS 18 and have a nice wide toe box. Fingers crossed I’ve made the right purchase🤞

Sassy! Many happy runs xxx
Very lovely - hope you have many happy miles together🙂x
Happy running in those lovely new shoes.
Indeed it is mandatory on this forum to show everyone your new shoes, it was the very first photo I sent of my new running shoes 😊 🏃🏾.
Lovely shoes for running on the road, I hope quite countryside roads, not busy roads.
I hope the 2K test run went fine in the dark, I am sure you have made the right purchase. 😊 🏃🏾
Oh my word, they are freaking gorgeous, my favourite colour, mmm Hope they give you many happy hours out on the road mWhere do you get your heel lifts?
Thank you - they look a lot brighter in real life. The heel lifts were from my local running shop; they do lots of different ones so you can take your shoes in and try the samples out to find the best for you.
Brilliant thank you, i wear a heel lift in my left shoe to correct a shorter leg level my hips and allow me free movement, i will find some and look at heights
Bit brighter i’m really drooling now
I love my Hurricanes and they are that colour too. Snap! So comfy and light.
Hope you have many happy miles in them!
Ooh la la. Very lovely indeed. Happy running.
Beautiful. Hope they turn out to be perfect for you Dexy
Very nice looking running shoes you have there! I do love my saucony's, very comfy! 👍
Very pretty
Ooooo likey likey. Did you plan to get that particular brand/model? They’re very smart. 😍
I’m transferring to my “best” pair of Brooks Revel 2’s soon, and retiring my old pair. They’ve served me well, but I’ll need a new best pair obviously! 😈
Cor! Those are luvvverly!
Lovely!! I still chuckle to myself when I think of my shoe buying experience - tried on lots of different ones in some gorgeous colours like yours but unfortunately the best fit ended up being a dusky yukky pink colour - you guessed it, really dislike pink. They live by the front door so I get to smile at them every day 😊 they are super comfy so the shop was correct.
Very nice always like new shoes
Running shop and local race track are next to each other so it's a nice 2 mile test lap on grass and tarmac to see if there OK
But I'm always disappointed how fast nice shoes die only got 500km out my last brooks or 6 months ish
Fantasticoodo! Snazzy! and nice colour too. Many happy comfy runs🏃♀️🏃♀️
👏👍🤗
Oh very nice Dexy5 , I wish you at least 800 km of very happy and comfy running in them. I have just passed 600 km in my Brooks GTS 19’s. I’ll be shopping for new running shoes in April.
Cheers,
Damien
I’d be very surprised to get that mileage Damien. I read that men’s running shoes are made with tougher soles than women’s so I think 600 might be the limit. I haven’t tried the 20s yet but there are some good deals on the 19s now if you want to have a pair in waiting, or to alternate.
I love the colour and Saucony running shoes are very comfortable. 🏃♀️
Love the colour enjoy!!!
Next time I see you, you’re going to have to explain the difference 4mm makes ....... - but they’re a cracking colour!
They are actually turquoise, rather than the jade they look here.
4mm between heel and toe doesn’t sound much but as quoted
“In general, a shoe with a higher drop will be easier on the lower leg—foot, ankle, Achilles, calf—while directing more stress to the knees and hips, So a lower-drop shoe will typically spare the knees but put more stress on the lower leg. “
The lower drop should be fine with my forefoot running but I did notice a stretch in the calves and Achilles last night. Just a case of getting used to them I guess.
It’s the difference in height between the heel and sole. Most standard running shoes are between 8 and 12. Brooks Adrenalines are 12, the Mizunos I have are 10s. If you heel strike you are probably best in this sort of range. There are lower profile shoes - I had a successful period of running in 4mm Brooks Pure Cadence before they were discontinued. There are also zero drop shoes. Lower profile shoes are aimed at forefoot strikers, but they also appeal to people who don’t like to feel they are running on vast blocks of foam. To my surprise the fancy Nike shoes used by Kipchoge to try to break the 2 hour marathon are also 12s whereas I expected elite runners to want lower profile shoes.
Ooh, they're lovely....my Brooks Ghost 11's have a nice wide toe box too, would defo look for that next time 👍
Hope they are the perfect pair for you 😁
Very nice. I got some new trainers for Christmas. They are now quite muddy 😞
Gorgeous shoes! I love that colour 😍
Lovely! My Sauconys are a similar colour but covered in mud at the moment - your post has reminded me to clean them up!
It’s a shame they don’t stay beautiful for ever
I think the word is stylish Dexy! Hope they do you proud!👍
Je t’aime!
Breaking them in for your HM?
Ooooh. Missed this. Very classy. Hope they work out well. 👍🎉
So do I Granspeed. By the way I have signed up for the New Forest 10k in Sept.
They are LOVELY Dexy! Such a nice green. I wish you many happy miles in them. 😘
Nice ones Dexy! Is that the Ghosts you’re changing from?
