π Finally got round to posting my first LEJOG5 and Magic Plan run. I have to convert my km to miles in order to upload the evidence for LEJOG. Hopefully I'll be better at km to mile conversion after a year of this!
According to the LEJOG map my virtual self is just north east of Catchall. I'm there on the map somewhere! Meanwhile my real self and Isla, my cockapoo had a lovely walk this morning before she headed to the groomers (looking lovely now!) and then an 8k from the Magic Plan this evening. It looks odd seeing my distance in miles in the photograph, as I now think completely in terms of kms for everything to do with running now π.
I have enjoyed reading all the LEJOG posts today. Everyone's doing brilliantly! π
Oh fabulous!! Love the pics! ππΎπ πΌ and what a brilliant start. Oh, Iβm so looking forward to your future posts! πππΏββοΈππ»ββοΈSee you on tour!
I know π₯Ί going from km to Miles is a bit deflating numbers wise, but then think how high the km distance would be - 1406.567 kilometres!!! Iβm glad itβs in miles now π
Thank you π. I know my local scenery is a little different to that area of Cornwall. Iβm wondering when/if our virtual route takes us along the coast? I might be tempted to jump in the car and do a real run by the sea π.
I was a bit disappointed by my first streetview photo, it was a bit of a dull stretch of A30 - hope that there will be better views along the route. Though I imagine a more scenic route would be longer...
Iβve set Strava to miles but my Garmin is still recording Km. Iβm like you, everything to to do with running is in Km. It was strange seeing it in miles on strava - although it did tell me Iβd run my quickest 15k π
I also signed up to do the virtual great north run on 13th sept so been trying to increase how far I run. My furthest run was 16k so I thought itβs only another 5K on top. I must be mad.
Well done on that 8k! That must have felt great, plus a great pace for such a long run! I know what you mean about converting the distances, Strava gives me miles, which I have to convert to K! I love the way you just casually dropped into your post that you ran 8k!
Doing 2 challenges at once, the LeJog and magic plan, is keeping you busy!
About to go out for an early morning dog walk myself, no running today for me. Take care.
Thank you Roxdog π. There wasnβt anything casual about the 8k π !! It was hard work. The first 1k was fine as itβs slightly downhill, but it was hard going for the first half and I got slower and slower. Then my legs found their happy pace and I did the rest in negative splits - it must have been the late blackberries I found π π !
Enjoy your dog walk. Itβs Pilates and dog walking for me too today π
Good going DD. Nice to think there might be a few beach runs ahead (virtual of course) keep posting the pics they look great. Happy running πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ
Great start and good work on the 8k, you're really flying through that magic plan! I'm hoping to join the September Magic plan and get my distances up too. I have my garmin linked to mapmyrun in miles so I can get my screenshots without all the messing around with conversion (I decided against using the strava option as I prefer sharing runs with followers only)
I agree, I only share Strava with two other people and this forum is the only social media thing I do. The switching to miles in Garmin to take the quick screenshot was easier for me to cope with than I thought π, so I shall just stick with that .
Good luck with the Magic Plan - it really does what it says! I did the timed version first to reach 60 minutes (I managed 7.9k), then after advice from ju-ju and others I joined the distance version of the plan at week 4, which was yesterday's 8k run. I'm glad I did the timed version first - it was a good transition from consolidation, and then moving onto the distance version afterwards has been another good transitional step. I'm really enjoying it.
I have been taking a virtual saunter along the route on streetview (navigation is easy once you find the A30 , quite interesting to see what the route looks like.
Well done Delly-dot, Iβm on LEJOG4 so I started about 16 days before youπ I love the challenge so far and there are so many of us on here taking partπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ Good luck to you and everyone elseπππ€
