🧙♀️ Wohoo! Started JuJu’s Magic plan today with an easy 2.5k at early lunch time through golden lit trees and sunshine.
👩💻 My workday started very early at 7am with several meetings, but had a break at 11:30 am, and as this was a 2.5k run (easy peasy for me now ..... wow, who would have thought this pre C25k!) so took an early lunch and off I went in gorgeous weather!
🏃🏻♀️ Really enjoyed it, rather one of my faster runs (still ultra slow though 🤣), but great boost in the middle of the day.
🚿 Came back, shower, sandwich at my desk and felt great for the rest of the workday!
⚡️ One of the things I really learned to appreciate during lockdown is the flexibility that working from home gives you to go for runs. And it gives you more energy throughout the rest of the day as well!
🗺 🌉📬 In LEJOG land, I’m still in Devon, having just met the historic first letterbox at Cranmer Pool and crossed the Melden Viaduct!
Happy Running everyone!

PS - I can't download Nike Run Club as my iPhone is too ancient for the newest version of the app. I have downloaded Runkeeper though , just the free version to start with, but not sure what to expect. Any tips? I guess I would have to subscribe if I want training plans?
It doesn’t have as many training plans as NRC but I like Runkeeper more. If you go into QuickStart, and workouts, you see different setups and I make my own under “custom”.
Also under audio stats you can set different voices! Fun!
Training plans: I don’t use them as I only have the free version, but I could unlock “Win the long run” which sets your baseline and sets a programme.
But why I prefer Runkeeper above Strava, NRC and any others are:
- you can set various intervalls under custom workout
- you can set 5min warmup walk and cool down
- you have pocket “Pocket Track” which means even if you forget to press start (or are using another app) it still tracks all runs (my favourite function)
Let me know how you like it!
Great start, lovely day for it, hopefully flexible working is here to stay 🤗
Great work CBDB 👍 Yes, the flexibility that working from home offers is one of the few good things all this lockdown has allowed.
I start at 6:00am and finish at about 3:00pm, so I can run during the day or after work. I was used to getting up at 4:00am and commuting across London so I get a lie-in now🤣 I don’t work Wednesday or at weekends either so I’ve got extra running time every week.
I’ve run over 285 miles on LEJOG4, which puts me just north of Birmingham 🏃♂️ I’m pleased with that in 12 weeks😊👍
I know how you feel! 😂🐌 But the plan will also help you. I managed my 10k in under 90mins, faster than my 9k run! It's a very strange feeling, you almost get into a zen zone 🧘 But us snails do need to set aside a big chunk of time for the longer distances 😂😂🍁🏃♀️🐌🐢🍂
That sounds fab CBDB. So you're doing the distance version? I will (!) be at 60 mins next week and plan to transfer to the distance version after maybe a couple of consolidation weeks. So just plodding along behind you 😊. Enjoy Lejog!
Oh, nice! Another magic runner! Yes, distance. I somehow without trying have reached 60min, probably because I’m an ultra slow runner, so my first 5k was also my first 60min! 🤣🤣🤣
So I know I’m ok with endurance but abysmal on speed. But that’s ok, it just means that I need to expect that a 10k feels for me what for others is a half marathon experience. So I need to also consider hydration.
Well done CBDB I think I need to redo the magic plan after my recent fall I’ve not got back up to 5 k regularly yet. Done some intervals this morning but it was hard work after 2 x21/2 k this week so really not back up to distance yet at all happy running 🏃♀️
Yes, post injury is a phase where one seems to need a lot of patience. Take care of your bones, joints, muscles and ligaments! Sending you patience and get well wishes!
