Looked out of the window this morning, it was cloudy it had rained and it was now a light drizzle, well that confirms the forecast!
Set off for my 7k in a warmer top than the past few weeks. I did my normal 5minute walk and set off, still drizzling, no sooner had I done the 1st k and it started to rain, I’ve not ran in any rain for weeks but it felt really good and it started to spur me on, not least to get back for a hot shower.
I sometimes overlook my progress on the 7k run and tend to focus more on the 5k and 10k - I don’t know why. Today though I started running stronger as I progressed through the run to finish with my best time at 54 mins, 2 minutes off my previous time. Definitely singing and running in the rain!

Well done. 7K is a great distance. It is fantastic for building endurance for 5K and it leaves you also well prepared for a 10K run if you planning to run one anytime in the future. Weather has turned here too. A lot cooler, so I’ll follow your lead and do a 7K today too.
Thank you damienair, I think the 7k has really helped the 5 and 10k recently as I have had a few PBs of late on those runs. I have been running 5k,7k and 10k each week all through April and May and I’m hoping to extend the 10k to 11k over the next couple of weeks, the next adventure!
Wow well done you. I have been running for 3 years now. 90% of my running is at 5K. But now and then I will run a 7K loop. I find that it also helps with 5K when I was training for parkrun. And it meant that within 1 month of additional training I was ready for a 10K road race. Very well done again.
