My cardio fitness was pretty good. The first week I realised my trainers were not up to that job and I bought some Ghost 12 in size 8.5. I’m usually a 7.
They have been fantastic! On Sunday I ran 8k and have a terrible blister. I don’t know if it’s the socks I’m wearing or if the shoes are not big enough. They have been fine for the previous 8 weeks so I think it may be the socks. I did notice on Sunday that my feet felt like the lynwere burning! I didn’t feel the blister while I was running.
I’m wondering if I need some different socks. Socks
I have are slightly padded and seem to fit well but they aren’t cotton. Any ideas in blisters please?
Thanks

I use Hilly mono skin socks. They are quite a tight fit and are not tumble dryable, but they are great . I only have 2 pairs and they have lasted for well over 12 months, so worth the money I think.
I’ve got some Dhb no show run socks and some Balega hidden comfort socklets. The latter have more padding than the Dhb ones. And I’ve got the Ghost running shoes too, which I love! I’ve just started week 8, so not quite as far along as you (congratulations, by the way), but no blisters so far.
Hi, not running quite as far as your good self. I invested in some Runderwear socks a few weeks ago and absolutely love them. They are double thickness and have no internal seams, very padded, very comfortable. Found the seams on other socks were starting to irritate me on other thinner socks. I run in Brooks GTS19s if that’s any help.
I have more mile socks. I got the shoes but couldn’t have a gait analaysis as shops closed but they have been fine until the 8k. So annoying! Well done you as well! X
I have been running for 3 years now. When I bought my first proper running shoes I also bought 3 pairs of socks from the running shop. I bought Hilly socks. They were the Hilly Marathon socks which were a little expensive. However I still have them and they are still like new. They are also keeping me blister free.
