Socks!

Didn’t realise when I started this running lark that after ignoring clothes fashions for (many) years, I would succumb to a love of running socks! Oh well, we all have our little foibles. And Roseabi did say it was ok to give ourselves a little treat each week when doing the Magic 10. So not my fault, really....

And it is Spring. Happy Spring Running!

Very lovely socks that are sure to bring even more joy to running. I’m feeling a state of sock envy coming on. Happy running 🏃‍♀️

They don’t tell us when we start C25K that socks will soon have a left and right... I think they need to add that into the guide, knowing insanity is ahead is essential information 😂

Totally correct! 😄

Oh I love those! Especially the green and orange ones. Honestly, I don’t give a hoot much about clothes, but LOVE buying running gear. 👍😁 Will be going into the office wearing it soon, the rate I am going...

They claim to be “no show”. I reckon we can wear them anywhere/everywhere. 😊

Oooh 😻. How do you like the injinji toe socks? I’ve contemplated them but haven’t gone there yet (I was not sure how they would fit with my short stubby toes but the toes don’t look super long....maybe they would work 🤔)

Granspeed profile image
GranspeedGraduate10 in reply toSaskAlliecat

They are really soft & light and seemed to mould to my foot. I thought the toes might be too short but they seem to adapt. Haven’t run in them yet.... will let you know!

I've bought 3 different ones. Going to start wearing them in my workboots as liners to stop toe chafing.

So far seen pretty good running-wise. Expensive but rather like teeth, we only get one set of feet! 👍🤣

The 'toes' ones look a bit alarming for some reason - or is that just me? Enjoy!😀

Injinji socks are the way forward once you get to HM ish distance 👌🏽

I can live in hope, then. All prepared, as I do Magic 10. 😊

💞😍 Ooh, socks! I sense a kindred spirit. Looking good, GS! 😎 And yes, we shall all blame roseabi, she won't mind.😉

Her shoulders are broad, I’m sure. 😄 Anyway, my feet are grateful. 🏃🏼‍♀️

Oh yes... running gear love :)

It’s amazing how much we change 😁 you’ll end up with loads of run stuff for all weathers, drawers full of gear 😊. Fortunately much of it is inexpensive We need good socks!

I passed up the invitation today to shop for a mother-of-the-bride outfit as I wanted to go running. My husband offered to buy the dress. It was a wrench but I wanted to get my run done. Had he offered to take me shopping for running shoes I’d have been there like a shot 😊.

Enjoy road testing your new socks 😃👍

Glad you've got the priorities sorted misswobble! Don't leave the MOB stuff too long though, unless you're planning on turning up at the church in your running gear 😁

I don’t like the phrase “mother of the bride”. It has old fogey connotations to me. Some of the outfits certainly seem to confirm that view 😁. Don’t get me started on fascinators 😁.

grumpyoldgirl profile image
grumpyoldgirl in reply tomisswobble

Confession time, I wore a leather biker jacket with my mob outfit 😁

misswobble profile image
misswobbleGraduate10 in reply togrumpyoldgirl

I have one and am travelling in it. To save it getting crumpled, I could wear the fascinator 😁

Only kiddin, my husband would never let me live it down should I wear such a tracklement 😎

We went to my sister’s wedding, and on approaching the aisle, my husband stopped me to check I wasn’t wearing wellies 😁

🤣🤣 we laugh in the face of the wedding fashion police! (My sister-in-law wore wellies at her daughter's wedding, but it was in a field and she forgot to change out of them before the ceremony started) 😁

Can’t have too many socks. Never tried Injinji but I have a few pairs of Stance socks and they are great.

Happy socks day Granspeed! The only problem with L and R socks is I usually have to put the first one on twice. Once I realise it’s on the wrong foot I have to swop it over. In fact I didn’t realise there was a left and right at first. I thought L was large until I realised they didn’t both say L!

😂👍

Oh I’m glad someone else gets confused by socks. I went out the other day in a “pair” only to find one was short and was not. I felt like I was wearing odd shoes 😃

Very cute. It was the special running socks (labelled left and right!) more than the trainers that made me feel like a runner! 🧦 👟 🏃‍♀️

Granspeed profile image
GranspeedGraduate10 in reply toKatiepops

Aha! Maybe I’m really getting there. Until running, I never thought about left & right for feet. 😄🏃🏼‍♀️ Hoping they’ll make me faster and stronger. Wonder if socks can help with planks??

Dexy5 profile image

My ski socks have L and R on them too. I’ve never dared to put them on the wrong feet in case I ski into a tree or something daft.

😂😂 I would be the same!
