Have been looking for some good cushioning running socks for the plantar in my foot, was thinking of Hilly or Thorlos.. not the double skinned one's, as thinking these may get too warm..anyone had good experience with these?😊

I just bought ordinary running socks and like them so much for running, I wear them all the time now and invested in extra pairs. Make a real difference to the comfort of my feet - total luxury!
Hi Dave, my OH has used Thorlos and really likes them as he prefers extra cushioning, especially around the heel. The running store where he bought them only do running/triathlon gear and their view was Thorlos are the best you can get for cushioning.
He's just bought some Hilly's, only had one outing in them so far, so difficult to say yet, but will be testing them on a 10k tomorrow - will let you know how they go,
Mx
Ps: they're not double skinned ones
Yes please Madge, let me know what he thinks..😊
Hi Dave, back from the Town and Gown Cambridge 10k, all road run, OH says, Hillys - no different to Thorlos, he likes both, and would recommend both for cushioning, guess it would come down to price, but now he's found these brands , won't go back to the cheaper ones.
Hope that helps
Mx
Yes, thanks Madge, I'll get a pair, someone else has mentioned 1000 mile socks. These are also twin skin. Take longer to dry, but comfortable and no blister problems.
Hi Dave, I've got some 1000 mile socks, I got them as I started to get some rubbing on the ball of my foot/big toe , twin skin, as you say, but I found them too thick, I'm using X socks at the moment, single skin, I like the padding on the toes especially for off road, and so far so good.....
Good luck with the socks 🏃🏼

I use both hillys and karrimor but they are the twin skin or duo socks. Fab cushioning and my feet don't get hot. They have a wicking layer to prevent hot sweaty feet. But then I am female and probably live with cold feet!!
Ah someone else needing padded running socks! It's my fave subject at the moment what with my many-blistered great toe and black nail. I rifled through my sock drawer and found a pack of Karrimor padded running socks. I had stashed them as being too hot. I ran in them on my cross country the other day and again today. Fine! Not too hot now autumn has arrived
I don't know of those brands but I'd get some if you're having trouble.
Good hunting!
