Is anyone using them? I have normal ankle length running socks and they are extremely comfy with the extra padding / support. But I am wondering about the compression socks as I see more and more people wearing them these days.
Some seem to be a full sock so I guess that this is worn instead of the normal sock as opposed to over it and the others seem to be just the 'tube' and no foot bit. Some seem to be a type of lycra and some are the full on woolly sock.
Any thoughts info or 'ones to avoid' gratefully received.

I tried them for a while as I was bought some as a gift but have since stopped, probably because of the hotter weather and the feeling that they look quite daft. Long socks are really an old man thing. The ones I had were lycra but had a 3d weave and I wore them without socks.
Now I just run with more mile low cut ankle socks, which are quite cheap but have padding at toe and heal without the bulk elsewhere. Did they help my calves recover quicker.. I don't think so, maybe they weren't tight enough. Proper compression socks ie surgical ones are very tight and need to be as they are used to maintain blood pressure.
I still have a dreadful tan line after my wrist injury and wearing a wrist and thumb brace for severe weeks, so the thought of sock tan lines makes me cringe too.
I have some as i had a calf micro tear. Can’t say as I noticed any benefit. Ok in winter though under long tights. Maybe we should put them on post run to get the benefit ?
