Today I decided that lockdown wasn’t that bad, it’s given me an opportunity to see the world in a different kind of beauty. The sky is clearer, the air feels fresher, nature seems to be blossoming, but people seem to be friendlier. I passed lots of people on my early run, old couples walking together getting their hours exercise, people running, walking dogs. Everyone said morning and gave a smile.
Maybe the world has changed, but just maybe it’s for the better.
That’s what I decided on my philosophical 6k this morning. Very peaceful. 🏃🏻♀️🌸☀️

Yes I agree. The vast majority of people I see when I’m out running or dog walking are friendly and smile, wave or say good morning. I’ve also taken to thanking drivers who steer clear of me too. There’s virtually no pavement on our road and I do feel like an intruder running on it! Ordinary it’s way too busy to run on and I drive. I must admit, it’ll be the one thing I’ll miss when this is all over, as I’m loving my run from home to the common.
And you’re so right about the air feeling fresh and clear. ❤️ Every cloud ......
Great run, I think you are right, people are far friendlier- this has given us all pause for thought. As runners we are lucky - such a feeling of freedom, let's hope some of those others we see out are starting new habits that continue long after lockdown. Happy running 🤗
I think we are all seeing things a bit different and I hope it continues. I was always one of those people to give a smile or a ' morning' and lots more people are responding .
