Photo from my splishy splashy 12k run this morning! π¦πββοΈ
I am sure lots of you have been running through the same. Definitely a day for my Hoka Speedgoats but no shoe exists to keep you dry through this; you just have to embrace the challenge of the mud and the fact that youβre going to getβ¦veryβ¦wet! π€£
It was nice running in the cooler temperatures though!π

Well done getting through that puddle more a paddle. Agree better cooler weather but mine a 10 km early morning walk and was out before heavy rain we have had now. I see u wear hoka. Have you tried hoka one one bondi 7 . I have bunions and neuropathy feet and was going to send for these as meant to be good for walking in. I wear a 5 wide brooks ghost 13 and was wondering should I get same size as my brooks. π
Not tried the Hoka Bondi Doris8 - my road shoes are the Hoka Arahiβs as I need a bit of support. Hoka are fab shoes though - good luck with the Bondiβs. I run in a mans size 8 but my normal shoes are 7/7.5.π
Ah brilliant, thatβs certainly very splishy splashy! Maybe flippers instead of Hokas! π. Congratulations on your brilliant run, the weather certainly was great to run in this morning. πββοΈπ¦π¦
Ooh that's a fair stretch of river you had to wade through there Sandra π Yip lots of my routes are quite muddy ATM, I always fear I'm going to slip and fall.. might change to road running if it gets much worse π
Well done on your distance run..that's a good one πββοΈπ
I think my daughter and I will experience conditions like these when we head out this afternoon. We had torrential rain again last night so our woodland trails, which are already very water-logged, will be pretty squelchy! I anticipate some hurdling and make-it-up-as-you-go diversions π¦πββοΈπ²π³πͺ΅.
Yes, I've got a few puddles like that on my routes too. I hate running with wet feet- don't mind the rest of me being wet. But, I suppose, at least its warm wet and not cold wet feet that we have now π
Luckily my routes haven't got too muddy yet. When I looked at this photo though I bit the bullet and ordered some shoes with lugs. I had a few slippy runs when I started out in spring this year and promised myself some grippy trainers before the autumn if I kept it up.
Looks like good fun Sandra, especially after the heat you just went through! We are in a muggy hot phase now too here. My old Speedgoats are mostly retired with 1000+k on them but my replacement Hoka Torrents are surprisingly grippy and fun to run in too - not quite as water resistant as the Speedgoats though Speedgoats were sold out everywhere when I was looking earlier this year.
I must admit, Iβd turn back if i saw that lake of mud in front of me π I havenβt done an off road or trail run all year. Canβt be getting my nice shoes all muddy. π
