Oh what a beautiful morning 😍

It was chilly this morning, I put on a thick warm jacket, joined the other volunteers on the green and could only just do up the high Vis jacket with Tailwalker on the back. I look like a barrel but a happy barrel 😂After the volunteer briefing there was a photo shoot, spread out a bit the Run Director shouted, that way there'll look more of you.....we were a bit thin on the ground this week.

My granddaughter turned up, said she woke up, looked at her phone to find it was ,8.31, so well done her for getting up, out and on the green with minutes to spare.

And off we go, my instruction was to not overtake anyone, not overtake? They all dashed off across the green....as I puffed and planted along behind, quickly realising that this lovely warm jacket is fine for standing around but I warmed up quickly walking.

I slowly caught up with the last group of walkers and began to really enjoy myself. I stopped a few times to take photos and before I knew it the speedsters were coming back, waves, claps, well dones and a few thank you tailwalker s were called across both ways.

At the turn point the marshall with a beautiful large dog picked up the cone and walked back with me, the dog behaved perfectly, walking between us and lengthening his stride when we jogged a bit to keep up.

What a lovely outing, what a lovely day, my granddaughter got a PB, I got nice and warm, made new friends and a few people called out my name so I'm getting known.

Looks like you had beautiful weather and it wasn’t too waterlogged. I’ve had a back problem with sciatica for the last 5 days or so so I walked the park run. The flooding here (they call it puddles 🙄) was pretty bad!

Ouch, hope your back heals soon, we had some puddles still but not as bad as in the week, I wore my trail shoes and came home with dry feet

Sounds like you had a lovely morning Sue, and enjoyed volunteering as tail walker. It was such a beautiful morning. None of our tail walkers are expected to run to keep up with the last person. In fact many choose that role because they cannot run, and would not be dressed to do so. .

Hi Sue, I thought on Wednesday you said you were tailwalking at Worthing parkrun. I was really looking forward to identifying you and meeting you. It seems I got my facts wrong. Was it Lancing parkrun you were at? Or another? It was a great day for it wasn’t it. Your granddaughter did well to get herself there on time for the start having overslept. In my experience, you never regret the decision to turn up. And great that she got a PB. Have a great week, I hope we will get to meet each other one day. Xx
