Hello VRBs. Due to social distancing we are all going to have to go back to be virtual running buddies for the foreseeable π Spring has sprung and my cold is over. I've been promising myself I'd get back out there when the sun arrived so off I went. A slow 5km, but I can still do 5km without stopping, which I find amazing after only doing 4 runs in the last nearly 4 months.
The idea of total lockdown concentrated my mind on getting out the door and running in the sunshine while we are still allowed. I said hello to everyone from 2 metres away. Everyone was pleased to be greeted.
Stay well everyone.

Good run for you today BTP, yesterday I ran a 5K in 33.21, and today I went a 12K walk, that took a little over rwo and a quarter hours, but the strange thing about yesterday and today was that between the two days I saw about 35 other runners, about 30 women and only 5 men, a bit strange that there were very few men running.
Indeed they are, I would say that of the 35 runners I saw, most were running at around the 35 minute 5K time, the female trail runner and one of the male runners I saw today were running at 25 minute 5K pace, the last female I saw today was running at around 43 minutes 5K pace, I wished her a good run and she thanked me, I was walking in the opposite direction.
You enjoyed your run Runningroni, that is the main thing, not sure what will happen to runners if they close all the London parks, that could happen this week.
I had a man zoom past me today. He said he'd done 5km with his little dog. Poor dog only had short legs and apparently stopped pulling after 1km. Then I had 3 guys come past me on my way home. Looked like a running club and weren't spaced out, but maybe they were triplets dressed alike?
Talking about dogs running with their owner, last year there was a man who I have got to know who ran a 10K with his dog most days, he has ran a 10K in 33/34 minutes and a 5K in around 17 minutes, felt sorry for the dog, however, he no longer runs with his dog, thank goodness for that.
So far we can. I planted spuds, parsnips and rocket, and have started courgettes, runner beans (π) and cauliflower in trays on the front of the pirate ship to plant out later. Fingers crossed we can still grow food
Great to hear you are back running while we can. Shame on those not taking this seriously jeopardising limited social distance freedom for the rest of us. Take care and happy running π€
So glad you are back running again Baddiethepirate. It was certainly a gorgeous day to be out there. Well done for doing 5km straight away. I do hope people start acting sensibly so that lockdown is not necessary.
congratulations for getting out there Baddie! I think we will all need to get out for solo runs over the coming weeks to keep us physically and mentally fit. Iβve planted potatoes, bread beans, beetroot, shallots and parsnips today. Wasnβt going to bother, as we were expecting to be in France for summer, but, in case we canβt, at least we will have home grown veg xxx
