Well this morning I ran with Delly-dot (slower tunes), Fionamags ( positive mantra) and Grannyhugs (jellybaby after 30 mins). To coin a phrase there was no "bonk". π₯΄It wasn't easy but I didn't hate it nor did I feel like giving up. The slower pace was difficult to stick to but I persevered. I even seemed to find a sweet spot for a short time towards the end. I seemed to lengthen my stride slightly and running became a little easier. The plan was to stop at 5k but I felt ok and managed to get an hour in so 6.5k. A big thanks to all for support during wobble.

That's great AllB! Wonderful that you drew on all our top tips. π Hope that you keep on now with the happy pace clicking in earlier next time. Xx
What a great positive post and run Allbarron . It really lifts the spirit when a run goes to plan. Have a great day ππ
So glad youβre feeling better Allbarron and safely through your wobble, itβs not easy to climb over every bump in this running road without going all wobbly but by holding your nerve and your balance you are stronger ποΈ π€π€
Happier yes over the hump not sure. However I do recognise that as easy as it would be to give up I have come so far I would regret it. I think I'll experience many more wobbles. I just have to learn to deal with them without becoming fatalistic. Thank you to everyone for keeping me sane π
Ahhh getting over the hump isnβt so easy, sometimes a break is what is needed but eventually be sure this phase will pass π€π€
Sooo good when you find that happy pace, no matter that it was for a short time. Mine hides and usually takes some finding, but worth it. Definitely easier to find on the slower longer runs thoughπ€©
Well done for persevering π. You are made of strong πͺ stuff. Best wishes on your quest.
Fantastic effort, thank you for taking me along with you. Its lovely when you have a good run after a wobble. Happy running π€
Oh well done AllBarron π€. I'm so glad that trying a little bit of everything somehow helped to pull things together for you this morning, and for you to then go and run for an hour and do 6.5k is fabulous.
You and I must have been running around the same time. It was my short 20 minute run of week 5 this morning, but I was in no mood to pick up the pace as I usually do with this run because of a very interrupted night with a poorly husband with a stomach upset. Poor him. I left him sleeping it off and just needed to get out. I settled for an "Uplifting Soul Classics" playlist from Spotify and it was perfect. I think I'll run with it again on Tuesday. I am feeling ready for a nap in the chair in the garden now though π΄π€.
You did well to get out and run after broken sleep. I've just been.looking at.my splits and they are definitely slower. I would have run on to 7k if I'd known I was so close but the tech I have makes it difficult to check without stopping. I'm still going to take advice and just forget about longer runs for a few weeks just to take the pressure off a bit. π Hope you get some rest and hubby better soon. βΊοΈ
