I’m back. Following a death in the family, I spent weeks trying to work out how to get to France and back safely in a pandemic. Finally borrowed a friend’s van and off we went to sort out the house, and bring back some furniture. We got hit on the M40, writing my friend’s van off, and damaging a rib. Also smashed most of said family furniture. 2 months later I gingerly returned to running. I managed to work back up to 5km just before the end of the year. (Only just!)
I’ve treated myself to new trail shoes. The canal towpaths are terrifically muddy, so they will see good use. First wear today, and did a slow recovery 5km. Why do I always wear atrocious socks for my shoe porn photos? Very comfy shoes. I’m very happy 😊

Enjoy your runs pressure-free for a while and you’ll build back up to running easier 5ks with no problem. Those shoes will be your friends in the mud! 🙏🏻
