So only done 2 runs of week 1 so far of the magic plan having started late thanks to a cold, and now woken up with another sore throat this morning. Got to get this one through quickly, any advice or tips??

Plenty of liquids...home made honey and lemon if you can bear the sweetness, I find it so soothing..

I make a batch and put it in a small bottle...then sit back and wait for it to ease. You can add ginger if you like and of course... the traditional option was to add a spoonful of whisky ( at bedtime), but with two small ones.....not a plan:)

My head cold is just at the tail end now...but still feel too bunged up to run comfortably.

I am quite glad that the storm is stopping me from even trying!

Feel better soon x

Thank you for the good advice. I drink plenty of hot water and lemon anyway as don't like tea or coffee.. so I should add some honey!

Sorry to hear you've been suffering too, I don't feel too bad but when I ran with the last cold my heart rate went pretty high! Really hoping this is just fleeting... x

Running with any illness is tricky...one reason I haven't run, is that although it was just a head cold..the effect was an energy sap...and running against that is not a plan.....x

Boo how infuriating! I second what Oldfloss has said, but there’s also a recipe on bootstrapcook for a Make-me-better mug which might be worth a try! Hope you’re feeling better soon.

Years ago I had a sore throat from hell. I went to the chemist as it was sore to talk or even breathe. He advised me to buy dissolving aspirin and gargle with it 3 times per day . Next day massive improvement. Now I tell everybody😁😁

First Defence works for me at the start of a cold (assuming your sore throat is only that). I’ve nipped a few in the bud this last 12 months and haven’t had a full on sore throat or cold for ages. Someone on here recommended it to me at the start of last winter. 👍

Hope you get it cleared up as soon as possible. This winter is miserable isn’t it? 😩

Hubby tends to have a well stocked medicine cabinet, I'll go and see if there is some!
