New Year, new parkrun, new pb

Staying in North Norfolk for New Year and heard that the parkrun at Holkham Hall was on. Arrived in good time which was fortunate as there were hundreds of people trying to get in and park. Lovely course with gentle ups and downs and the best bit - a new pb of 30:58. Finally, I'm in sight of my sub-30 minutes goal.

To mark my transition from couch spud to runner in 2019, I've enrolled on a 10k run on Jan 19th and am raising money for the RNLI. If anyone feels like sponsoring me, there's a page on Virgin Money Giving. Search for Tim Allen Braunton 10k. Just need to get a couple of training runs in before then!!

Happy New Year and good running in 2020!😁😁

Huge congratulations on starting the year hitting a new PB. WELL DONE!!πŸ™ŒπŸ™Œ

I planned to do the same but didn't quite hit the target on Wednesday. Nevermind, another 52 attempts coming up throughout the year!

All the best with that 10K later in the month.

Very good pb. You will do so well on the10k.

How does the donation work? Is it Virgin Money who transfers the funds to RNLI? Is it compulsory that you hit the target amount?

Thanks for your reply. Virgin transfers the money to the RNLI some time after the event. They deduct only the credit card fee unlike some of the other sites which charge a small fee as well for their running costs.

Best wishes

Tim

Congratulations on your new PB. Nice way to kick off the New Year. Keep running and you’ll cross that sacred 30 min Barrier in 2020. Best of luck with your 10K.
