I've been doing a lot of musing about running the last days as we start the new year
I was really pleased to get a decent amount of runs in including after work on Christmas day! Also really happy when I stepped on the scales yesterday, due to being fairly active my weight hasn't changed and it feels very satisfying to be starting 2019 with a fitness regime already established.
And after a lot of proscrastinating I went ahead and booked a 10K race, I'm a bit nervous about it but I know I can run that distance as I've done it a few times now and I want that blingπππ π
So today I wanted to do a long one and I hadn't gone too mad last night so it seemed reasonable. I had one of those days when my head tried to talk me out if it and then I started feeling inexplicably anxious about it! I overcame all that and headed it with the plan to do between 8 and 10k.
It was lovely and quiet on the roads so less time standing at traffic lights but I hadn't planned for how busy the riverside would be, every family and there dog were there and I was dodging groups of people when it's usually quite peaceful.
I was really pleased to carry on for an hour, just over 9k with a quick last K.
I've realised the value of routes I've set from my door, so I never have an excuse not to do at least 30 minutes and that's been so life changing for me. Plus Santa bought me a fantastic waterproof jacket so the rain won't stop me either! The ice may be another matter though..
Happy running to all this year! πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ
