Ok, who ordered snow?

I woke up to this lot! Quite thinly spread on the fields but a good layer on the tree protected path. It wasn’t icy, so I decided that a gentle 5k would be ok. It was really gentle, as in 36 minute territory, but it was a wonderful run. There were quite a few people out; some with kids, others with dogs, and everyone was so pleasant and chatty. Like the start of Christmas really. V02 max Santa was generous and awarded me a point and snow is definitely the lazy man’s (me) way of cleaning mud off trail shoes. Flat white, toasted tea cake, walk home and shower and I feel so much better for having got out there. 😊☃️

Beautiful photo and what a thoroughly enjoyable run. I so wish I'd got up really early this morning and gone for a run. My time's not my own today, I'm desperate to get out and I'm feeling like a caged lion! 🦁

I stole this morning 🤫. I was meant to be elsewhere, but it looked too inviting, and I needed it 😊

Sounds so lovely! And yes great idea to clean shoes. I traveled back to France with mine and got a bit of mud off when waitjng for the airport shuttle... need to use a brush I think as no snow forecast here

Enjoy your stay CP2. Must be 3 years since I was in Paris. A friend lived there near the musee d’orsay. No running (I wasn’t a runner at the time!) but the food 😊. Will need lots of running when you return!!👍

What a lovely location your friend was in, very lucky. I suppose one could run all along the Seine... not been to paris since being a runner. (Still sounds funny!) I’m lucky that my parents are near a park/wood with really ideal paths.

You are in a much better location for running! 👍

Yes and it’s flat!! Well there is one very steep hill over a bunker (yes really)... might do a bit of hill work on that or yet again, i might contour it...

That looks lovely and Christmassy Beachcomber66. And look at that blue sky. Cold but dry, and crunching through soft snow must be great. ⛄️❄️.

Trails handled it really well. Didn't want another fractured vertebra. All of the colours were lifted by the sunlight reflecting from the snow; probably why people seemed so happy.

I bet 😊

Isn't it great that we as runners get to experience so much more than if we were just sitting in that couch. It looks beautiful and like you say how great it feels to get outside. 😊😊

Looking very festive BC! And a nice gentle run followed by coffee and toasted tea cake sounds just perfect for a chilly Sunday morning 😁

Just hope it doesn't freeze and hang about for days; ice is too risky for an old feller !!

Sounds just great! Wonderful run, what a lovely description. My run tomorrow is planned to be a fairly local Christmas card delivery run. Just so much to do, so I shall only 'treat' myself to a long run if I have ticked off enough tasks. Well done to you! 🏃🏻😊☃️

When I worked I always seem to have a crisis to resolve pre Christmas and it was just like you say; a whole stack of stuff to tick off before you can relax and enjoy it. Retirement isn't all bad news (although stuff still seems to seek me out!) 😊

I left teaching in secondary school 6 years ago and just tutor 2-3 hours a day. I suppose that is enough to still mean that Christmas preparations seem hard to fit in. Still need L plates for life as well as L plates for running. 😊

I still find it hard to say no. We are all programmed !! 😊

Great effort in the crisp winter weather. Good point on vo2max as well, always nice when that happens. Happy running

Thanks GTB. Most of the snow has melted away now. Nice as a novelty but I wouldn’t have wanted it to hang around ! Happy running to you too 👍
