First run after illness

Ahhhhh… my trails have me back again! I did a gentle 10 min run and 10 min walk after 10 days illness that left me bedridden.

I couldn’t keep food in all last week, so felt pretty sick and weak most of the time but started a very gentle indoor rowing session Friday and Saturday, and today was the day to get out there again on a gentle, quick run.

Hubby warned me to not do too much and suggested a goal point from which to turn back. That was good, as going out felt so great and bouncy that I was tempted to run on. Loss of ca 3kg weight over the illness also contributed to me feeling lighter on my feet.

But my body did become heavier and heavier on my return, so I was glad I listened and turned back when I did!

Back home, I feel great and can see I need only a few recovery runs and I’ll be back to where I was before falling ill. (And I hope to keep those 3kg off 🤣🤣) And it was so good to get out!!!

Happy running, peeps!

Sorry to hear that you've been ill. Sounds like that was a nasty one.... But it's good to hear that you are back on your feet and having a gentle joggle. Just avoid the pies and you'll be fine! 😂😂

🤣🤣🤣 yeah, I’m still far away from pie (and luckily not really a pie lover) , but am still rather at the stage of gentle, not spicy food like a soft boiled egg for breakfast. But it’s amazing how suddenly the simple things taste so good!

Sorry you’ve been ill! Seems to be a trend this summer. Sounds like a nice gentle run to get back into the swing of things!!
