That's what I say to the snow and ice. As I slid around like a fool trying not to slip and smash my coupon
Pretty hairy out there what with all the potholes in the rutted roads I run on full of snow so you can't see them, and the roads glistening like well polished marble. The new cloudflyers did me proud though.
Trying to set a pace to run to wasn't as successful due to garmin deciding when I set 6:00 for a 5k that I actually meant 6minutes per mile.. come on garmin, i'm running 5k and I have told you that so why would my pace be in miles.. lol so I did set off trying to do 5k in under 19mins lol.. not gonna happen but did help me warm up while wondering what was going on.
Once the tech was sorted I did manage to return a reasonable time albeit I did have to slow it down for safety's seek as it was quite sketchy in places.
But happy to get another breakin run done on the new shoes.
Stay safe all.

Blimey oh Riley - exactly how fast are you? In the snow - wow I am in awe.
That was a pb although I had two walks in the last 2 splits of about 40secs. Which are just slow running I know but I fear if I get into that habit I won't be running. Getting a good time helps those fears a bit.
Wise choice. I'm a bit more snotty today and throat is worse. Currently sitting in car procrastinating over going for a workout. I wouldn't go out in 50cm snow.
Sheesh, that was twice as fast as my yesterday's treadmill run!
The slidey stuff helped with the down slopes Not so much on the inclines, had to run on the verges next to the ditches which is a bit worrying as a hidden hole and you'd be off and into the drain... and I hate clowns. You are my hero for running on one of those darn things
Hehe just need to be like Jon cdn.images.express.co.uk/im... though he had the help of scarey crap chasing him.. well he had a giant pay packet waiting tbh.
Yeah the pavements are the worst. Luckily I only have to go on them during my warm up walk and then I can get onto drover roads which weren't great as they aren't grittted and were turned to ice by cars crushing the snow down, but better for having a gravel surface underneath. I wouldn't run on paths, I'd go in a field if that was my only choice.
Fields a good walk away and treacherous with mud, so goodness knows what tbey are like with snow on top. I could hardly keep my feet running on them in fair weather
I was meant to be doing 10k, but with the head cold and sore throat along with new shoes and dodgy conditions I just said I'll do 5k and be kind to myself
Sounds more like natural selection i'm afraid. Standing on a slippy high wall covered in ice taking pictures and not paying attention. What could happen! Reminds me of those idiotic folk who stand on the edge of birling gap at the white cliffs peering down and taking selfies.
Well done you for getting out in the snow. I'm sitting it out for the time being. Just admiring some of the spectacular snow sculptures we have here in south east Wales.
