Snow ❄️!! almost

Well!! The promised snow didn’t arrive and disappointed didn’t cover it, we’ve had no snow for a couple of years now

Phone call from work, need a mental capacity assessment and can’t find one, so out came the laptop, found the necessary forms, emailed them over, another phone call

It’s snowing !! not the sort that is seen north of us, just the odd white flake if you look hard enough, the park wasn’t too busy so we set off, Willow mentioned being cold 🥶 that wind was biting, maybe more clothes would have helped, 2k in and Willow was still cold so headed back to the car and I headed fir the beach..... gentle running, realised my breathing had settled, legs felt like they could keep going forever at this pace, past the lake, dodging people and breathing through my buff, what a wonderful invention they are!

Across the road, onto the beach, no sand to run on so a quick couple of photos to prove I was there 😂

Along towards town, back across the road and heading back to the car, nice and warm now pushed my sleeves up, ooo that wind bites in bare skin and flakes of snow sting so pushed them down again

Kept it slow, a nice easy run, 4k as i got back to the car, shall i go twice round the track to get 5? nah Ill go home, Zombies Run tells me I’ve done 5k because I started it to include the warm up walk.

New leggings with a phone pocket in arrived in the post yesterday, they are wonderful I love them and don’t even notice the phone

Photos, self explanatory really, me on the beach, park all green in case the rest of the country is white , amaryllis that was my secret santa present at Christmas

Have fun, run strong and happy and enjoy Sunday

I’m going to soak in a hot bath and cook roast beef for dinner x

Nice run today for you, there is some snow in your area, probably won't settle as you are near the sea, but it's nice to see some snow because you haven't had any for years.

It’s nice big flakes now, we are hoping for a bit more lol 😂

Well done! That wind was biting, I was so glad it actually seemed to only be blowing in one direction, so it was behind me as we walked down from the Dyke.

SueAppleRun profile image
SueAppleRunGraduate1060minGraduate in reply to Maddee_6333

Yes very biting, I got nice and warm then pushed up my sleeves was contemplating taking my hoodie off when i realised my arms hurt from the cold, it’s wet and a bit sloppy running on the grass round people i can’t wait for dryer days when i’m not so scared of falling over

Maddee_6333 profile image
Maddee_6333Graduate10 in reply to SueAppleRun

Oh yes. I think we’ll all be glad when drier days are here!

Sounds lovely! We haven’t had snow for two years either! Would love some snow ❄️.Good that you got out though. Leggings with a phone pocket sounds great!

What time is the Roast beef ready ? Can you set me a seat at the table please? I do love roast beef? 😋😂

Are you making Yorkshire puddings? 😀

SueAppleRun profile image
SueAppleRunGraduate1060minGraduate in reply to Indielass00

You’ve got half an hour to get here 😀mind you I’ve made chicken packets fir tomorrow, that’s chicken breast with stuffing, cheese sauce and bacon bits wrapped in pastry, once everything is cold I will wrap them up and put in fridge to cook tomorrow, Willow will put in oven half hour before i’m due home

SueAppleRun profile image
SueAppleRunGraduate1060minGraduate in reply to SueAppleRun

No Yorkshire puddings today, we had roast potatoes, broccoli, leeks, carrots, sweet corn and beef we wouldn’t have fit Yorkshire puddings in

I got a bit obsessed with your dinner! 😂 Haven’t had roast beef in over a year! Sounds delicious! The chicken sounds amazing too 😁I love cooking. Made a nice veggie curry last night. Didn’t mean to side track off the running! 🤣🤣

Vegetable curry sounds lovely, that’s ok, nice to talk about food

Well done on getting out in the cold (snow or no snow) - I’m glad I ran yesterday, although it looks as though the cold weather is back for most of the week!❄️

SueAppleRun profile image
SueAppleRunGraduate1060minGraduate in reply to Sandraj39

It was the coldest I’d noticed it, and those tiny snow flakes did sting, but a slow run was enough for me today

It sounds like you had a lovely run, and I'm envious off our phone pocket. I bought some winter leggings which are lovely but my phone won't fit in the pocket! Having rained all day yesterday it then started snowing like mad last night as I went to bed, a proper blizzard. Thankfully all gone this morning 😊

SueAppleRun profile image
SueAppleRunGraduate1060minGraduate in reply to dijep

I’ve been waiting all winter for snow and it’s turned to rain again but more forecast later

dijep profile image
dijepGraduate10 in reply to SueAppleRun

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. My son is in Bristol and he says the same, it snowed last week there but had disappeared within an hour.

SueAppleRun profile image
SueAppleRunGraduate1060minGraduate in reply to dijep

Never seems to last long in the south

SueAppleRun profile image
SueAppleRunGraduate1060minGraduate in reply to dijep

Depends on size of phone too, i’ve gone back to the slightly smaller iphone se

dijep profile image
dijepGraduate10 in reply to SueAppleRun

Yes mine is slightly longer/ taller than most which is the problem, luckily I've a warm top with a big zip pocket so I keep wearing that.

Sounds perfect

Well done you two. We were out there with you today Sola and that wind was so cold. I had a ski base layer as well as my warm zip up top, buff and gloves and the wind was still blowing through.

We had a bit of weak sunshine this morning but the grey clouds have come in from the East. No snow yet but we will definitely have the ice.

Keep warm

SueAppleRun profile image
SueAppleRunGraduate1060minGraduate in reply to Dexy5

Now I know why we were cold, leggings, tiny strappy tee and a hoodie, Willow put on joggers and gloves, buff and music hat, Willow forgot his hat Obviously not enough but 49 minutes of gentle running and even my hands were warm by the time i joined Willow back in the car

Sounds like a good run...envious of your leggings with pockets...what make are they?

Advantage of rubbish weather...not many other people out and about 😉

I decided on another 2 recovery days before my next run...so went up my allotment, gosh it was bitter cold! 🥶

Trust me...snow is NO fun...you’re welcome to it 😂☃️

We’re on the coast in sussex and only a dusting but we may get lucky

Brilliant run for you today and smashing pictures. Also can I ask .....where did you get your leggings from with phone pocket and where is the pocket? And lastly does your phone stay safe? “Gosh which question do I answer first “? .....I hear you say.🤣🤣x

Thanks, got the leggings from Amazon, pocket on the outside of each thigh, they are called yoga pants and the pocket is long enough and snug enough for my iphone se might be a bit of a squeeze for a bigger phone, it didn’t move though so was perfectly safe, i can get iphone 7+ in which is bigger, i couldn’t feel it as i was running too which was great, like it was stuck to my leg, I will send you a link in messages

in reply to SueAppleRun

Thanks Sola. I have an iPhone 7 and listen to music while running . I still use ear plugs with lightening lead for phone so perhaps the pocket on the thigh is not a good idea for me. So l think maybe an arm sleeve is the way to go. Never mind thanks for info👍👏👏Take care and happy running!🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️X

Have you thought about wireless ear buds? our aren’t expensive ones but they made such a difference I also now have a hat with headphones and a hair band with headphones, it’s a bit of a nightmare working out how to link the set i want to listen to

in reply to SueAppleRun

Yes I think that’s the way to go. I have a flip belt and that was good to start with. However eventually I felt that I had a corset wrap around me . 🥴🥴After awhile it just rides up and by the time I’m home I can’t wait to take it off. 🤣🤣🤣x

Ah, I know that feeling of disappointment: where’s our (southern) snow? It’s just fluttered in the air all day. Hhhmmpph! Good run for you, though.

SueAppleRun profile image
SueAppleRunGraduate1060minGraduate in reply to GailXrunning

Thanks, it’s been on again off again all day My colleague said this morning, if we get 6 inches I’m not coming to work tomorrow, I think she’s going to be disappointed

Haha, so many raised hopes being dashed! It’s now starting to form a thin crust in places here, and it’s making crackling sounds.

Similar here, more to come down during the night maybe, I live close to work though so have no excuses even if we got loads

Your run sounds lovely, you seem to enjoy cold runs! Oh, I really wanted a roast beef dinner when I read your post earlier! And now I’ve read about your chicken packets! All sounds delicious.

We haven’t had any snow here at all, but I’m pleased as I hate driving if there’s snow and I feel isolated enough as it is! It’s just been very cold today.

SueAppleRun profile image
SueAppleRunGraduate1060minGraduate in reply to Jools2020

Oh flip, thank you so much, I’ve made all the individual ingredients and forgot to go back and put them together, lol, Willow washed up and later he made tea, i didn’t go in the kitchen, i better do that now 😂we both hate going out in the cold but i still want to go, poor Willow less so

Hi Sola,

Ah glad you got your snow!!! ❄️ ☃️🌨

Well done to you and Willow for going out in those weather conditions 💨 🥶.

That is nice that you treated yourself to a new pair of running leggings, having a pocket on the leg is so useful.

Great photographs you look so healthy, loving the amaryllis.

Your roast beef dinner sounds delicious what a lovely Sunday.

Take care

Rebecca
