When I did the Sami Murphy B2 10k runs I actually only did it once a week, with two regular 30 minute runs each week. It would have been too much for me to increase three runs a week. Depending how I felt I ran through some of the walk breaks. As a C25k graduate you can build anyway you like as long as you stick within the advised 10% a week maximum increase (time or distance),
I still got to 10k, but I think I enjoyed it much more.
Many thanks. I’m rethinking how I approach this. I think 2 runs a week plus Saturday Parkrun. With GymBoss I can programme my intervals. In B25K I appreciated Laura’s coaching but don’t think I need it now. I wonder if Paul McKenna has done a hypnosis track “You Are a Top Runner”?!!!
I agree with Millsie-J HeavyFoot, I tried the Sammi Murphy podcasts too at first, but found the walk breaks a bit of a worry and doing three of those in one week was too tiring.
Have you seen the 10 is the Magic Number plan on this site. Designed by our lovely Admin Ju Ju to give you flexibility and motivation that will get you running 10k in around 8 weeks. It's fun to do and you can record your runs on a free app such as Strava or Mapmyrun to mark your progress.
The plan works, with the three different length runs each week. The other weeks can be found in the Pinned Posts section at the bottom or side of this page. Well done on your 6k distance!😊x
I started on Juju’s plan this morning with a 15 min interval run. I like how you mix it up over the week rather than the same run for one week etc.
I also like that it makes me plan my run. So for the short run today I chose the C25k+ speed podcast. Then on Sunday I can plan how I am going to tackle the 30 min one.
I’m doing JuJu’s plan too, just started week two. I like that it’s just a steady increase and no walking. I think i’d feel like I was going backwards if I went back to walking.
