Well today was my 1 year anniversary from my first C25k run. And what a year- highs and lows along the way!!!

From the first run gasping “ is it 60 seconds yet?” “ no it’s only 19!!” .......

to the high of the first 20 minute run.

From the misery of my graduation run that didn’t go as planned ........to the high of the next run where I ran for 5k ( albeit in 40 minutes) and then one day “accidentally “ ran 7.5k because I wasqnt reading my watch properly without my lenses in 🤣🤣 and then finally ran 10k 🏃‍♀️👏

From the 5.00am cool runs in the scorching summer......... to my fractured ankle and 3 months of desperately working towards being allowed to run again and re-completing C25k

From losing motivation in the middle of winter when hurt after illness after injury held me back....... to getting in the swing of things again........ to running 5k regularly and starting on B210k again.

And then on Friday nearly back to my pre injury 5k time ( just a couple of seconds difference) to today which I was hoping was going to be a triumphant new 5k time.......BUT.....

A really lousy night sleep( 2 hours max)... got up at 4.15, ate early breakfast because my tum was growling, and because I hadn’t slept I drank a glass of rehydrating drink ( usually drink after a long run) and decided to run at 7.00 as I was fidgety then. Not a bad run, not as fast as I’d like but pretty good considering lack of sleep still.....

Any run is a good run and it was my 92nd run, which isn’t bad as about 4 months was taken up on the IC. And I feel better for having gone and done it......another 6k under my belt.

Here’s to the next year 🤪🥂🍾

Yup and I have just taken delivery of a secondhand treadmill so I have no excuse now whatever the weather.
