Well I’m quite pleased with myself for managing this especially in this stormy weather. Annoyingly, I had a small accident BEFORE I ran this morning and I’m feeling the effects of it now. Glad I ran early or I would not want to go now.
For about 3 months ( this time) I have been a fully paid up member of the insomnia club. Well in fairness I GO to sleep ok, just wake up several times a night and struggle to drop off again. I’m also too hot especially at night. So my dr now is looking at Thyroid issues and I have a blood test booked for next week. BUT at the moment she has given me some sleeping tablets for a week to try to get back into a pattern. I’ve had 2 full nights sleep now WHOOHOO!!!
But this morning I got up, went to the loo and then downstairs to feed the kitties and came back to struggle into my running gear. I’d negotiated the battle that is forcing my wayward bosom into my sports bra ( it fastens at the front with a zip but there is a hookandeye arrangement to do battle with first, and first thing in the morning my eyesight is not brilliant)) and got my leggings and toe socks on and running shoes. I went to get my running belt on and as I turned the corner of the bed, with my hands behind me doing up said belt, my feet sort of caught on each other and stuck together. You know the sort of rubbery bits on the side? And I fell over....face first straight towards my bedside table.
Well there was bad news, good news and more bad news.
The bad news was that my glass carafe, that my daughter has bought for me to stop my cat drinking my nightly glass of water, fell and smashed,
the good news was my face missed it and just hit my handcream bottle.
And the other bad news was that my “airbags “ got in the way and, although protecting me a bit ..., landed right on the drawer knob and I know have a very large sore bruise on the left one. 🙄😭
But the run was a good one, shaving a few seconds off my time and I’m looking forward to week 2 now. Still really gusty out though🌬🌬 but I dodged the showers
None of my injuries during my year of running have been run related just before or after I run...☹️

Ah limberlou, as always you keep on keeping on and that shows how much drive and determination you have. I too belong to the insomnia club and it’s pretty annoying when you go to bed absolutely exhausted but just never seem to achieve that good nights sleep! I’m pleased the sleeping tablets have helped. I’m sure there’s lots more good news to come for you too! 😉 Well done you!! 🤩🤩❤️
Yeah once I get back into a good sleep pattern I’ll feel better I’m sure. I am sat here nursing a massive bruise on my left bosom but still glad I ran as I don’t think I’d want to tomorrow. So sore when I move my arm now ☹️🙄
And I forgot to put up the pics of my new running shoes which is really annoying 😡
Well done for getting on with your run limberlou, I think I would have gone back in bed to make sure nothing else went wrong. Hope the bruise dies down soon. Oooch.
Actually it’s not so sore now and I think I was best going straight away before I had time to get stiff. Beautiful multicoloured left bosom now ( no pics 🤣🤣) and sore when I accidentally lean on it. Quiet day today.... going up in the coach to my daughter’s, collecting her and some more of her vast shoe collection and SHE can drive us back. I’ve lent her my car for a week or so while hers is off the road so she can chauffeur me for a change. I’ll sit back and do my knitting🧶.
Oh no limberlou , that sounds awful, you poor thing...and you still managed to go for a run?!! I'm a rubbish sleeper too, I know this might sound strange but I miss having my kids in bed with me, I listen out for them during the night even though they're way passed waking up ages so that keeps me awake...and once I wake up, i too can't get back to sleep...hope you're not too bruised after your fall....as for the carafe, if there's a Laura Ashley store near you, they have a sale on at the moment and they have some very pretty ones xx
I don’t think I ever had my kids in bed with me, wouldn’t have slept if I did - I can hear a mouse fart 5 miles away and it wakes me up.
My daughter likes to have our cats on her bed at night when she stays and they are very good really but Mimi insists on coming in on my bed once Lol drops off and she is so hot!! And so am I and I fidget all over the bed all night so I keep moving her and then have to get up about 6 to let her out and I feel like I’ve hardly slept. Whereas Loki lasts till about 4.00am then because no one can wake my daughter once she’s asleep , he comes in and gently pats my cheek for me to pop him out the landing window , onto the garage roof. And then I’m awake for the rest of the night whereas my daughter is as fresh as a daisy.
The carafe was lovely it was like a Russian doll and it was her head, that came off to use as a glass, that broke ☹️. I used to take a pint glass up with me at night and then I woke one night to hear a slurping noise and caught Loki with his head right in the glass glugging away merrily. ....just wonder how many times that had happened before I caught him 🤢. So my daughter bought me the carafe ..🤣🤣
Aw, your cats sound like they love being near you?! How funny that your Daughter is oblivious to the feline goings on?!
Your carafe sounds lovely, it's sods law that it got broke, if you'd have kept the blumming glass I bet that wouldn't have gone? And yes, sneaky cat sipping your water?! I hope you're able to replace it with the same x
I have 2 cats and 2 kittens and they are all characters. My floofy black kitten, Luna, we have rechristened the Worminator as she seems to like fetching in earthworms for me lately. I think the storms are bringing them to the surface and she is so proud of herself I can’t be cross. At least it’s not frogs like the two older ones brought in the last 3 springtimes. Not what you want to be chasing round your bedroom in the middle of the night....🤢
