B210k week 1 finished

Well I’m quite pleased with myself for managing this especially in this stormy weather. Annoyingly, I had a small accident BEFORE I ran this morning and I’m feeling the effects of it now. Glad I ran early or I would not want to go now.

For about 3 months ( this time) I have been a fully paid up member of the insomnia club. Well in fairness I GO to sleep ok, just wake up several times a night and struggle to drop off again. I’m also too hot especially at night. So my dr now is looking at Thyroid issues and I have a blood test booked for next week. BUT at the moment she has given me some sleeping tablets for a week to try to get back into a pattern. I’ve had 2 full nights sleep now WHOOHOO!!!

But this morning I got up, went to the loo and then downstairs to feed the kitties and came back to struggle into my running gear. I’d negotiated the battle that is forcing my wayward bosom into my sports bra ( it fastens at the front with a zip but there is a hookandeye arrangement to do battle with first, and first thing in the morning my eyesight is not brilliant)) and got my leggings and toe socks on and running shoes. I went to get my running belt on and as I turned the corner of the bed, with my hands behind me doing up said belt, my feet sort of caught on each other and stuck together. You know the sort of rubbery bits on the side? And I fell over....face first straight towards my bedside table.

Well there was bad news, good news and more bad news.

The bad news was that my glass carafe, that my daughter has bought for me to stop my cat drinking my nightly glass of water, fell and smashed,

the good news was my face missed it and just hit my handcream bottle.

And the other bad news was that my “airbags “ got in the way and, although protecting me a bit ..., landed right on the drawer knob and I know have a very large sore bruise on the left one. 🙄😭

But the run was a good one, shaving a few seconds off my time and I’m looking forward to week 2 now. Still really gusty out though🌬🌬 but I dodged the showers

None of my injuries during my year of running have been run related just before or after I run...☹️

New shoes today too which obviously made me slightly faster too

Haha I’m really sad in that I have just bought a 3rd pair in the same style as my other 2 pairs but just a different colour. I love my ASICS and have them in 1 -fuschia pink, 2-shiny turquoise and pale pink and now 3- royal blue with a tiny dash of orange. I thought I’d get them ready for when my others wear out but couldn’t resist an outing in them and they are just as comfy as the other two pairs. 😁😁

I forgot to say the turq/pink pair are GT-1000 and the fuschia pair and the new blue ones are Gel Cumulus.

I’m sorry but I did laugh at the bit where you said all your injuries are either before or after your runs. It did sound funny 😬😜 and the ‘battle that is forcing my wayward bosom into a sports bra’ but made me smile. I struggled so much with the back fastening at the top of mine last week that the next morning I pulled a muscle in my neck whilst drying my hair (arms in a similar position to the bra struggles). I was in so much agony I couldn’t run which actually annoyed me more!! 🤣

I’m glad it wasn’t worse and you only have a bruise to get over. Hope it doesn’t stop you running. Well done on your B210K run and thanks for sharing.

Ps love the shoes! 😊

It’s amazing how we can do these silly injuries in such strange ways. My daughter woke one morning, flicked her long hair out of her eyes and gave herself whiplash before she’d even got out of bed.

And my sister who suffered with back ache for years, carefully knelt down in front of her gasfire to polish it, rather than bending over and hurting her back. She was about to get up and wanted to sneeze, so turned her head to the side and sneezed, slipping two discs and ending up in a plaster jacket from chest to hips, for 4 months ( they used to do that back then).

Sports bras are a nightmare. My daughter’s friend Cat got stuck in a Sports Bra in Sports Direct changing room and had to get an assistant to get her out of it.

I really like the front loading ones I have and they definitely do their job - nothing moves at all-they are lime green with orange accents and a zip up the front. But they have 2 hook and eyes which are hard to get to grips with when your hands haven’t quite woken up yet. But they are sooo good I bought 2 and so did my daughter.

Well done, limberlou....I finish week 1 on Tuesday, so keep up the good work.

That is so funny, Jell... all I can picture now is a 🐈 struggling to free itself from a sports bra.

It’s even funnier in the flesh .my 4 cats have all at one time or another been playing with a sports bra and took off caught up in it. 🤣🤣

Lols poor friend was

Mortified however especially after callling for help for so long and then a complete stranger coming in and finding her with her arms stuck straight up and the damned thing caught round her shoulders and neck. She said it was very claustrophobic and she was struggling to breathe, poor thing. They are such instruments of torture, yet necessary ......men have no idea!!!!
