Life has been hectic the last week, so much that I haven’t had time to run at all! Last night I was at the National TV Awards (in a suite!) with my boyfriend, we had hospitality which naturally means 1 too many glasses of merlot..
Today I was off work in the afternoon and I knew I needed to get back to business running-wise, even with a wine headache!
Set off to the gym to do the 3.5k and it was HORRIBLE. I couldn’t find a rhythm at all and stopped twice.
However, at around 3.4k, a magically gremlin defeating moment happened and I thought... let’s get the 5k done today. I ran the 5k, not breaking any speed records especially with my 2 breaks, but found my groove at 5k and decided to go for the 6.
And I did!!! Longest run in a while and I could have gone on in the end.
Not breaking any speed record but happy to have beaten the gremlins and got the long run done for this week. Looking at my garmin stats my actual moving time wasn’t TOO slow (about 11.3 mins a mile), but the breaks made me a heck of a lot slower.
Oh well - 5k and 3.5k to do them onto week 3... 7k 😧😧

Congrats on the 6k! I also did that one this week, it was a bit of a slog, but nice to push past to an extra k. I think the short run for week two is just 3k if it helps (unless i've just under run it 🤔).
Congrats to you as well! Are you following Ju-Jus plan too? It’s a nice tipping point - feels like the homestretch to 10 now... just checked and you’re right, short run is 3k this week yippee!
Thanks Dreams! Slower than I would like but just so pleased to have got myself back out there when I really didn’t feel like it! 😋 run 2 and 3 should be easy sailing now!!!
You did a brilliant job just getting out there after what sounds like a fantastic night Becky!! That was a great distance and a great breakthrough the temptation to just give it a miss! 💥 Well done you!! 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽❤️
Woo hoo - congrats on the 6! How nice to be going for a shorter distance and just be able to keep going. I did my 5 last night - the first time on my own in the dark. It felt unreal to start with but better towards the end. Sooo cold tho!
