I’m feeling rather chuffed - Windswept and very soggy but still chuffed.
3 runs this week in what was absolutely awful weather to complete week 2 of my plan.
A 5k progressive run where I actually did manage to get progressively faster, a 6k which was made up of 2 progressive 3k runs which also went OK and a straight forward “easy” 3.5k today to finish off the week.
I’m really enjoying the variations and different pace targets although my estimates can be wildly out sometimes. I’m hoping the weather starts to improve as the trickier, longer runs are scheduled.
I will check in again with you next week at end of W3 - it’s good for me to be accountable.
Hope you all have a good week

You are doing amazing 61Lady especially in this rotten weather although today was all snowy and Narnia. However in the wind and rain it does get a bit tough so we’ll done for getting your runs in.👍😂x
Thank you - not had any snow … yet … but almost biblical amounts of rain.
It’s been so tricky timing the outings. What I’ve been doing is getting dressed for a run and got all my other gear run-ready and just looked out the window to see when was best and take the chance when I can. The bad weather also has a knock-on effect making for quite solitary times too as hardly any one else out and about.
🍏🤗Posts like this encourage all of us to be accountable in trying to reach goals & fulfill running dreams! Well done! Sounds like it’s going really well. Those runs with different paces can catch us out but good to remember it’s OUR paces… Well done & thanks for popping in. We look forward to your next post! Xx
Thanks Annie. Up till now I’ve been pretty much single paced for all my runs with the occasional “let’s try and go faster this time”. The pace variation within a single run on this plan makes it far more interesting for me and even in just 2 weeks, I am feeling a little stronger so who knows where I’ll be at the end of the 14 weeks ?
Plans are so good for taking you outside your comfort zone and mixing things up. Brilliant for motivation. It’s great to read how well it’s working for you!
It’s an app called Runna. I entered my stats eg. my age and speed of average 5k etc. I said how many runs per week and what day would be best for a long run. I then said when race day is and the plan was calculated. You can manually change the plan within each week to fit your own schedule. I joined it on a free one week trial , really enjoyed it so paid for a year subscription.
