Oh my, that was hard work. Itβs not like me to do a run and not get anything out of it, but today was one of those days.
I was a reluctant runner from the off, having to encourage myself out of the door. The only thing that gave me any motivation was that the sooner I ran, the sooner Iβd be done. Not a great mindset by any stretch and certainly not a helpful one for me. π
This 3.5k run started week 3 on the Magic Plan, though I certainly wasnβt feeling the magic this morning. Maybe itβs because the sun wasnβt shining and there werenβt any frosty diamond sparkles on the grass to run through, as on my previous run? The woods were quiet, just a few dog walkers about and happy canines.
Hopefully this is just a blip and Thursdayβs 5k will see me right again π€πΌπββοΈ
Those "really not feeling it" runs are the one that make us. We all have them. There are always positives. You went out there and you did it! Well done π
Ah, a gloomy day. I have been having these since early December I think. Indeed, not a good mindset for a run. But you DID run and that is where you did better than me the past 2 months. You went out and did it and that's important. Because once you let yourself go and allow yourself a 'day off', it easily results in a few days off, a few weeks off, ...

Today I had I run I didnβt want π but I followed it with a dog walk to the same place and the sun came out and it was just the walk I needed βοΈ π. It lifted my mood brilliantly. I think thereβs definitely something about grey day moods at this time of year. So, now itβs my turn to encourage you to pull on your trainers and head out for a run ( preferably in the sun, but go for it anyway).

I did a lil run on my treadmill today with the sun on my back through the window π
We all have days like that... I had one today and instead of getting over myself and out there to do my run, I stayed home so not feeling very proud of myself! Well done, you got this one out of the way and maybe you'll get some more diamond sparkles on your next one π
I found the shorter runs on that plan a little disappointing. It seemed no sooner was I warming up and it was time to stop, maybe you just never got into your stride, next run is bound to be better
You might not have felt like it but you still got it done.. all good βΊοΈπI think sometimes when we've had a really good run that it makes it more difficult to get out for the next one
I think you are right dijep - wise words. I had a really lovely dog walk with Isla later on and on much the same route as my run. However the sun came out on my walk and it was lovely. I think I had a bit of the grey day doldrums on my run.
Ah yes, we all have those runs dont we. The big positive is that you still did it and having got it out the way now have the good runs to look forward to. Yay !
You put on your running togs (unlike Hidden !!) You left the house. You didnβt just throw in the towel when you felt βoffβ, but still pressed βonβ. You started to run. You completed 3.5k. You know it wasnβt one of your best, but you can know something more about yourself and your relation to running precisely from this meh experience. And itβll make the good runs feel even better. And you posted here. Yay!
That'll probably be where your plot is Hidden . It toddled off there all by itself, and is now sitting there feeling very lonely, wondering when you'll come to rescue it.
I went out there this morning dressed appropriately and found it whilst doing the Triple 7 intervals. Actually harder than I had hoped π³ but, I got it done πͺ
