I did the 2.5k run on Sunday using intervals in the c25k+ Speed podcast. Then I did the 5.5k run on Tuesday using the stamina podcast. Then last night I did the 5k run and this time was with my friend’s running club at an actual public event 😱 we had numbers, it was timed, we got tshirts and medals and we were with PEOPLE!! I was so nervous and nearly backed out because I’m self conscious about my slow speed but in the end it was actually great, lovely atmosphere in a lovely place and I didn’t come last (251st out of 310 lol) so woo hoo 🎉🎉🎉🎉 bring on week 2, I’m ready 🏃🏻♀️💪🤘

Well done, I have been using Runkeeper this week, also Map My Run, Fitbit watch, retro runners Dads Dancing playlist on Spotify and any other gadget, gimmick and gizmo I can find (then I write the results down in a little black book), see you in W2
Thanks Guesty, I was very out of my comfort zone but that was a good thing, they’d all be the ones trying to keep up with you if you were running with others!!
Thanks juju, I’m enjoying having the motivation of the plan 🙂
You're brave Jenny - well done! I got caught in the middle of a triathlon event last Tuesday night. I was oblivious as i had my headphones in and then I noticed that I was being overtaken by people wearing t-shirts with numbers on them. And i began to notice stewards in luminous jackets directing folk. Well it's a public park/soccer pitches/university area so they hadn't exactly booked it. Gosh, they were fit! Some of the onlookers cheered me on anyway as I brought up the rear.
Great Job Jenny, keep it going, so brave of you to do park run. It'd be amazing to reach 10k - that's probably dream target one day! I'm taking a more steady post graduate approach, where I try to build up a pace to try run 5k in 30 mins over 5/6 weeks, it seems achievable, once I feel I can do that, I plan to join an experienced runner (and old uni friend) in a park run course one morning - that one way to reunite
