I got out the door today!! I didn't outrun the black and grey ones Oldfloss and they stayed with me on the run but maybe they will get tired and bored with running and slink away, that's my hope anyway.
Big thank you Gran4z for "our" lovely gentle run today, very gentle 5k in the park. I replayed your description of our run in my head and it was wonderful, thank you vrb.
I know the battle isn't over but I will enjoy the sense of victory and peace this gentle run has provided me today.
Thank you for your kindness and support.

Brilliant news Lorijay. Well done you for going out and doing a nice 5km. Would you like to join myself and Bluebirdrunner in our quest to find something enjoyable in every run? It's fun and positive. Big hugs
Thank you my friend. That sounds really good as anything positive is medicine. I am hoping to get out again on Friday with Gran4z for our vr and that in itself will be positive. Big hugs
Sounds great! I try to do this on every run and rarely fail. If I look up I see birds, if I see a traffic jam I'm not stuck in it, if I see rain the grass looks so grateful, if it's a hard run it doesn't matter because I still got out the door, and whatever happens I get to run downhill on the way home... Can't lose!! Happy positive running!!
<Big hug> Outrun the darkness and into the light, Lorijay. So glad this lovely gentle run has brought you a sense of peace; running can be magical like that. I hope you have many more peaceful runs to come. I rely on these sorts of runs to keep my spirits up in the dark of winter. xxx
Thanks Sadie, I am trying very hard to run into the light and would like to think that today has started what might be a longish path. Coming back to the forum to lovely people like you feels right. Kindness can never be underestimated. Thank you xx
Thank you Oldfloss, hug gratefully accepted and appreciated. You are right, early days and I will continue to take one day at a time which is a change from trying to manage hour by hour.
Hi Lorijay, Ah! Now I know that it wasn't a diddy little run but a 5k-er!! Whoopee! That's great! 🎉😊🏃♀️Forgive me if I'm getting a little excited, just really pleased for you.
I plan to run on Friday too, so I shall be thinking of you. I am so pleased that it is currently day by day rather than hour by hour.😊 I do hope that continues.
🦋🌲🌳🏞 🦆 Just been finding some things that could bring enjoyment on our runs as mentioned by Hidden . I think the fourth image, forgotten the name for these lovely little pictures, may be pushing the imagination a bit although I have found an ex quarry near here that provides a rock face, if not actually a mountain. All the best for Friday's run 🏃♀️🏃🏻♀️🏃🏻🏃🏼♀️🏃🏽♀️🏃🏃🏾♀️ You see that I have added several VRBs! 😊
Big hugs to you too 🤗 🤗 🤗 I like the little pics as well and if I spot one that my computer doesn't appear to offer I copy and paste it into a document, ready to use at the appropriate time! That's how I came to have the smileys giving a hug!
Well done Lorijay - it’s so hard to move when the black dog strikes - you must be a tough cookie. And well done Gran4z. What a great team you are already 🏃♀️🏃♀️
Thank you jayval. I do feel like it's a victory for today, definitely not a tough cookie after the last few weeks of being reduced to barely being able to move. Can only hope that meds combined with support and kindness is helping rebuild.
Hello Lorijay, I am sorry I missed your original conversation but another VRB here to support you. Running can help in so many ways and I find that I am far more observant of the beautiful things around me, as I run by the sea or in the country. And, for me, having a good night’s sleep is one of the real benefits. Enjoy running with us all on Friday; it’s almost like a parkrun now . 🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♂️🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♂️🏃♂️
You are going to conquer this with your positivity. So proud of you Lorijay. As a fellow runner who suffers from dreadful anxiety, I know it’s hard to fasten your trainers and go out there. Well done to you.
