The photo is Misty the cat also 'On charge' 🐱 🀣

So this was my first run for 12 days .

I have been nursing a couple of niggles lately and also busy with work .

Today ended up an unexpected day off and the niggles have been , well , ok !

So decided I needed to get out there before I forgot how to run !

I was going to go earlier but with having an unexpected day off i decided on a lie in 😴

So was up around 8:30 , for a shower followed by porridge !

It looked nice outside .

Dry and bright albeit a little chilly at 6 degrees.

So after the obligatory faffage I was out of the door around 10:45.

Today was men in tights 😁 and a long sleeved running top and very light jacket .

I don't know why but I felt a little apprehensive about this run , but started ok but could tell I hadn't run for a while so kept it nice and slow .

The toxic 10 made themselves known and I wasen't sure how it would go but then started to loosen up and onto the 2nd K.

I had no pre determined distance for this run , I simply wanted to get back into it gently .

Legs and muscles felt fine on this run but I could tell my aerobic capacity had degraded as the hill up to the church was feeling tough again !

To be expected . ' Use it or loose it ' 😐

The rest of the run was ok followed by another incline taking me up to 3.5K where I decided to finish the run .

Back home , stretches done and a mug of tea .

Oh, and take Misty off charge now as she is raring to go 🀣

Well done, glad your able to get back out there, i know how frustrating it was for me, back in feb/march, not running due to various niggles, but sometimes, maybe i little rest can be a good thing, for us middle aged folk 🀣

Thank you ! Oh and Misty does the same , she is chipped and I have a chip operated cat flap on the kitchen door so I often come down to 'Presents' 😳

πŸ˜‚ We have a magnet operated cat flap in the window but he wouldn’t go near it with the magnet on so taped the opener down and at least he uses it now

I think just the light from the window catching the right one, he’s 7 months now, ripped the sofa to bits and doesn’t purr but otherwise he’s delightful

Haha, Misty has wrecked my cream leather sofa !😐😐😐

Hope you feel good for having done the run today! Use it or lose it - I agree. It's so easy to get in a trough!

Well done Ian, lovely to have an unexpected day off and take advantage! I know what you mean about feeling apprehensive before a run, it’s weird. I’m glad the niggles seemed to behave themselves, and next time that hill will be a bit easier! Nice to see Misty unplugged and full of beans 🀣.

Great Instructor57 😊 just going out for that run gives you a tremendous boost doesn't it. Something to feel good about all day! Regular little runs building back stamina is the way forward I'm sure. It's working for me.

Good luckπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸ€žπŸxxx

Your cat is so cuddly

Good for you for getting back out there after your niggles and defeating the Toxic 10.

Hopefully each run will gradually get easier as you get back into it. Bravo πŸ‘

I thought it was just me that often felt apprehensive before a run.. that makes me feel a bit better.. and of course we all know we always feel better afterwards..😊Misty is adorable..

Instructor57 profile image
Instructor57Graduate10β€’ in reply toPeggySusi

Haha no, I'm sure a lot have the pre run apprehension 😁I guess afterwards we then wonder why !

And yes, Misty always makes me smile 😁

WOW what a tail!! My hairball (I have a nakey cat and a hairy cat) has caused a true blood bath yesterday. She had a checkup and blood was to be taken. But she wasn't too happy with it and protested in her way, because of which a full (but not yet closed) tube of blood flew through the air and splashed wall and floor with blood. Luckily it was my mother who was at the vet with her and not me, because I think myself would lay flat on the ground by then, unconscious πŸ˜‚

Too bad you have such problems with those niggles and can't run as much as you want to. Hopefully they'll clear or calm soon! But you did a run! Maybe you can work it up from now on again?

Instructor57 profile image
Instructor57Graduate10β€’ in reply to

Haha, it looks unusually big in that pose but she is certainly a long haired cat , Oh you have one of each 😬🐱🐱

Sounds like your mum had fun at the vets 🀣

Yes, had a few niggles on and off ,

I think I need to do a bit more than just the running, maybe a bit of strength and flexibility 😁

β€’ in reply toInstructor57

I tell myself continuously I should do something besides running. But I'm too damn lazy...
