Ha ha ha, should have read this before i went, but…… it was just so lovely to be out, for one who lives in a flat and mostly works indoors, a very timely reminder though to stop worrying about speed and distance and just as you say, be kind to ourselves 😀
UpTheStanley and I are in Herefordshire at the mo and went for an early morning run up a country lane to the woods. It has to be said, the sheep, the horses, and the calves we met along the way looked at us as if we were totally bonkers.

Sounds glorious and to be bonkers is glorious too! Enjoy!
I shall be waiting for those photographs Maj, I got out one day this week... can't remember what day now, and it was early! The fields had just been harvested.
I felt that the bronze gold of the fields, was too autumnal for the month,.... but it was beautiful.
I think you have included a link or photo perhaps to a post in your reply Floss but I’ve just got the message “original text” after your first paragraph…..
It was a lovely run in the shade but still hot in the sun even then 🥵 but it’s done now.
Good advice 👍🏻. Running is supposed to be fun. While I’m off work (phew) and my running buddy is away, I’ve taken the opportunity to drive out into the countryside and do a bit of trail running. (Love it 😍) The countryside doesn’t have the built up heat of the concrete in the town, there is lots of dappled shade and a lovely breeze. Going early helps too. I’ve stuck to 6k and run even slower than usual, taking in my surroundings, and it’s been an absolute tonic 😊. Stopping at the cafe on the way back for a coffee and a bacon sarnie helps too 😂. Stay safe everyone. We’ll be layering up soon enough 🥶
I have run 4 and 5 km this week along the shady banks of the river and canal. I am NOT doing the next run of 9km at the weekend as planned, I will be leaving it until next week when it’s cooler!
