Back at last! (at least I hope so)

Life has not been kind lately and I've been on quite a downer, which has affected all my sports, not just running. I've never stopped running, but only short runs, and mostly on the treadmill πŸ˜₯.

Today I got up and looked outside and it's gorgeous. Mr AG had gone to work , so I decided to go for a run. Just a quick 2.5k along my short route seemed possible, so I put my running gear on and went out. What a great feeling, running outside! Just after 1km I ran into the riding school out for a hack, so I did a detour so as not to spook the horses. Just after 1.5k I came across more riders, so another short detour and that was 2k. When I got back to my start point 2.5k had turned into 3.5k and it wasn't worth stopping when less than a mile would make 5k, so I ran out to the national speed limit sign. I was running out of road when I hit the 5k so I had a walk around some streets I haven't been down in years as a cool down. It was wonderful. I think my outdoor running days are finally back.

Running my first outdoor 5k in over 6 months deserves a treat, so here I am having my dinner in the summerhouse while I type this. I can't wait to get out there again 😁😁😁

Sorry things have been tough. Those short runs are great for keeping things ticking over but it must have been wonderful being outside for the longer run today. Hold on to that feeling! β€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈβ˜€οΈ

My run was just like this yesterday. I had to force myself out, but once I got out I loved it! 😁 Hope you have many more fabulous runs!

Isn't it great to just feel like you can keep going? Sunshine and longer days are a tonic for the soul :)

Having just got out a similar period of feeling rubbish and like you just managing to keep running going with short runs I can totally understand how you are feeling.Congratulations on your 5k πŸ‘

Your summer house looks a lovely spot to sit and chill.

It's just the best thing ever. I spend more time in there than in the house if the weather's warm enough.
