Life has not been kind lately and I've been on quite a downer, which has affected all my sports, not just running. I've never stopped running, but only short runs, and mostly on the treadmill π₯.
Today I got up and looked outside and it's gorgeous. Mr AG had gone to work , so I decided to go for a run. Just a quick 2.5k along my short route seemed possible, so I put my running gear on and went out. What a great feeling, running outside! Just after 1km I ran into the riding school out for a hack, so I did a detour so as not to spook the horses. Just after 1.5k I came across more riders, so another short detour and that was 2k. When I got back to my start point 2.5k had turned into 3.5k and it wasn't worth stopping when less than a mile would make 5k, so I ran out to the national speed limit sign. I was running out of road when I hit the 5k so I had a walk around some streets I haven't been down in years as a cool down. It was wonderful. I think my outdoor running days are finally back.
Running my first outdoor 5k in over 6 months deserves a treat, so here I am having my dinner in the summerhouse while I type this. I can't wait to get out there again πππ
