I went to work in the pink so to speak! so it didn't take long to get changed after work (early finish on a Friday). The sun came out π€and we decided to run the Sett Valley Trail as it is surfaced rather than a muddy, slippery towpath.
We chatted all the way there and back, and it was a lovely run. We were about the same pace so neither of us were trying to run at a pace that seemed awkward.
I gave my work mate a lift home and got treated to a cup of tea and an early mince pie. Yum!
Then I tried to go home but there was a huge traffic jam. Called in for petrol then by the time I got home I was a bit cold. Hot shower, protein filled omelette and off for a night out celebrating.
Now I'm shattered which is good because I was quite wired after my 10km! run. Think I'm gonna sleep really well tonight. I'm hoping when I wake up the badge fairy will have been and put a shiny graduate badge by my name.
I'm beginning to feel like a runner π
(I was SO grateful for the change in the weather from grotty to lovely, and for my lovely wicking pink top).

Baddie thatβs awesome! Very well done! ππππππ How you could chat to your running friend is something Iβll never know! I donβt even get out of breath really, but I know Iβd be monosyllabic! π
You certainly are a runner, and a brilliant one. Fabulous! πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ
Thank you. It was a skull I always coverted. Erm skill, I meant skill. Oops slip of the tongue! So I practiced it with the local running group! You could practice too and become chattycheekychipmunks π
Brilliant! Well done you! Congratulations! Enjoy your time on the podium and all the very best for your onward running journey,ππΎπ₯π ππ»ππ
Yes, it was lovely to have company on the 'big' run. This guy saw how disabled I'd become, and saw me come back from that so I got a big well done, a cup of tea and a mince pie from him πIt's nice to have someone notice how you're doing. Although he did say he was joking when he first said he'd come running with me. His words were 'I thought you'd run a mile!' In the end I ran 6, and so did he. Serves him right for teasing!
A BIG thank you to you lot. My virtual running buddies who kept me going! πππ
Brilliant run, so good to read about that, quite an occasion donβt you think? And flippinβ heck, thatβs a decent time too.
Also it looks like your run was about 5 miles from where I live. Small world etc etc
Brilliant occasion! I'm made up. I wrote thank you notes to my GP and Rheumatologist a few week ago. This run was called 'The miracle of medicine (keep taking the pills!)
You are a runner Baddie, Congratulations on your first 10k and I bet you looked brilliant in your new outfit. We saved a place for you on the podium to collect your shiny new badge. Whoop whoop
