Final long run before the Hexham 10k

The evenings are drawing in now even before the clock change and with so many of the roads unlit where I live I decided to just get changed at work and run around the business park where I am based.

I am running the Hexham 10k on Sunday and wanted one more go at the distance beforehand.

It went ok, still very blustery and I was a bit tired and had a some pins and needles in my left foot to start with but all my splits were pretty consistent and although I was a couple of minutes slower than last time out I was happy with 1 hour 7 minutes.

I may do a park run Saturday but just as a very gentle jog before the Hexham run where I fully expect to come near the back of the field but will enjoy it immensely none the less.

Run happy, run safe.

If you do Parkrun do keep a lid on it Don’t go racing. Last thing you need is an injury before race day. Have a slow jog. Cuppa tea and cake after 😃

Well done on your run. I would go steady at Parkrun if you are running on Sunday (even better make it a rest day🙂 You could always volunteer instead?). There is something about races which always makes us go off harder - lots of excitement and adrenaline! Whatever you end up doing, have a fantastic run on Sunday - photos of bling are always great to see on here, too!👍🙂

If I do it then it will be VERY steady, just a slow jog.

Very nice 10k there Chris...Good luck with your event on Sunday.

Take care if you decide to run Saturday too, if its cold you could pick up a strain... so pleased your asthma has settled now.😊xx

Fab run, and very good luck for your race. I'm a total race junkie now, I seem to go faster than on my own.x

Take it easy at Parkrun Chris, I personally wouldn’t do it so close to the race but then I’ve got some years on you 😊

I’ll wager you’ll be close to the hour mark at Hexham 10k 🤗

Good luck 🏃🏃

wow! That is a great 10k time Chris, I would be chuffed to bits with that, I expect you will be near the middle of the pack if you can repeat that on Sunday, take it easy and enjoy your 10k on Sunday :)
