At the risk of boring you all silly banging on about my asthma, it's still not good but at least I have now been referred to a specialist.
So I set out this morning not really expecting to do more than 3 or 4k.
Now I'm sure I was helped by the performance enhancing drugs ๐๐ (otherwise known as prednisone!!!) but once I got past 2k I felt pretty good, I managed to run a little niggle in my left ankle off, got the breathing and pace steady and kept it going even though KMs 7 and 8 were into a pretty strong headwind. Final 10k time was 1 hour 8 minutes.
My new (second hand) Garmin watch is working well and even though I know you don't need it for 10k I took a gel as I started and even though it was probably all in the head the energy levels felt good in the second half.
So very happy and will see what the next next few weeks bring. I have the Hexham 10k booked for the end of October and the Northumberland 10 miler at the end of November.
Now to overdose on golf for the next 2 days!!!.
Come on EUROPE!!!
Run happy, run safe.
