To fast!

This is the second time I’ve done this. Tried to go for 4 Miles this time and was wondering why I was feeling like I was going to throw up after 3 Miles as I’m used to running that distance now. Looks like I was hoofing it and ran 5k in 29 mins 😳. Not sure how cause I thought I was running slower than usual🤔. I’ll struggle to do more than 5K at this rate.

I don’t know about the tracking system you use but (I use a Garmin and can do the following) can you set a pace to run at with alerts, bleeps, when you are too slow/fast? Otherwise possibly run with your phone in your hand a couple of times to get a feel of how running slower feels?

I have a Garmin Forerunner 235 I’ve only just had for 2 weeks . I’ll have to see if I can do that 👍

I’m sure you can, mine’s an old 220. I will say it can get annoying if you don’t run within the set limits.

Yours might be in a different place but mine is menu, settings, activity settings, alerts, pace, then fast alert on and slow alert on.

I’ve stuck with Strava, but I normally just slow down or walk for a few seconds so I can check my pace on the phone..... never used Garmin. Hope you find a solution!

Well done for the speed, but yes good idea to try and slow it down for the longer runs....

I’m using a music app called RockMyRun (free version) There are a selection of music mixes at different beats per minute to suit your pace. Might be worth checking out the marathon selection at the lower bpms and then trying to run on the beats. Might help you pace yourself.
